Which publication posts the best, most comprehensive, statistic on college football players? I'd like to see: Defensive Lineman Linebacker Defensive Backs Safeties Offensive Lineman
You’re correct BUT, we don’t have the luxury of waiting. We’ve done that in the past and it hasn’t worked. FSU won 10 2 years ago so their portal work in which they were very aggressive was successful before this year. Norvell loaded up even more the next year leading to 13-0. My point is Norvell didn’t just start doing big things this year and it did not take him two portal classes. It took him one to get 10 wins but he didn’t stop. We cannot sit back and wait.
Yes but want to put a touch of cold water on that: as our near victory in Tallahassee that season proved, those ten wins are probably 7 in the SEC. Especially with our 24 schedule. So I agree he needs a Norvell-like portal class. But 10 wins as a comparison is unfair to Billy (I have it at 8 to be honest). Having said all that, NOTHING has shown me that we will have that level of portal success. It feels like Ricky is the ceiling for the level of player this staff can pull out of the portal. Land the Penn kid and somehow get Brooks to visit after his Louisville or Sorey from UGA and I'd change my thinking on that....
Obviously Kirby is losing players to the portal and he needs to change OC and he’s going too slow in the portal and he should be like Norvell…
I like how they highlighted how many UF alum are in the spotlight, are hosts of widely watched reality shows( palmer) sports announcers(colinsworth), famous sports reporters ( andrews & rutledge) Olympic gold winners(dressel) , young up and coming phenoms (Ben Shelton), sports entertainers (Titus O'Neil) famous comedian and actors, etc. Watching that there really are a lot of UF alum in the main spotlight across the sports and entertainment spectrum.
I ask you one question as a counterpoint. Without JT at QB what do you estimate their records the last 2 seasons despite their uber successful usage of the the portal? I believe you overweight the additions they made and without JT they would have been averageish despite playing in the lukewarm acc
He also doesn’t have a DB coach yet, he must be terrible like CBN because he hasn't hired one yet 1 week away from ESD.
Texas A&M joined the SEC in 2012. Their first conference game was against the gators. Florida went into College Station and came out with a W against what turned out to be the Heisman winner for that year. Scared, this is football. Any given Saturday.
I believe I heard the other day that this year will be the 6th time we've played A&m since they joined. UGA has never played at A&M's Kyle field. And have only played them once since they joined the SEC. How is that even possible. They've only played twice in the last 43 years. And they been in the conference over a decade. Smh
