If the class falls out of top 10 was the hire worth it?

This is last year, but he looks to have pretty good vision to me.

Biggest difference to me is Montrell isn't going to outrun elite defenders with an angle on him to the edge whereas ETN sometimes can turn the corner. Montrell will more often cut up than try to outrun someone to the edge.

IMO, the running game scheme in Billy's O is really good for rbs. ETN has benefited from playing in this offense. ETN was ranked 14th rb coming out of HS and has improved his stock, or at least the perception. For a comparison, Judkins in Lane's offense averaged ~4.5 ypc this year.

Lol That's funny you said that. That Tenn game was the only game he had a run more than 32 yards. Montrell on the other hand broke one for 48 yards vs UGA, and one for 52 yards vs FSU.

He also had more receptions, receiving yards. Not sure why you so down on Trell but he did the damn thing

Some RBs come out of high school certain they'll run for 200 every game.

Montrell had 5 runs of 20 or more yards and ETN had 6 runs of 20 or more yards this year.

3rd down: ETN had 13 carries for 31 yards (13 yards being his longest run) while Montrell had 17 carries for 131 (34 yards being his longest run).

like I said, i would love to have him back, but he’s not irreplaceable

I personally think that’s why ETN is looking to leave. If Montreal wanted to enter draft, ETN would have stayed.

I sure didn't cuz I hate watching us lose. Especially to schools I hate. And unlike you I knew we would lose. And I was right.

absolutely is and I get @crl point in that ETN is better than Montrell at making something out of nothing though. Can’t argue that. Montrell is a better zone blocking scheme runner but both were hampered by the OL this past season. Whats crazy is both could of had 1k yards had we been just a tad bit better on the OL

the Utah, UK, and UGA games cost them both 1k seasons as we fell behind to the point we had to abandon the run

Mertz going to have to get a bit better downfield with ETN leaving. Nearly all of our explosive plays seemed like runs or screens. However, I really think Mertz has a big year next year IF they plug the OL woes with the portal.

Yeah because trell had 82 yards on just 9 carries vs the Dawgs. But like you said we couldn't just continue to run because our defense sucked and we were forced into in passing situations because we were too behind m.

He played past 30. There are only a handful of people who rush for 1000 yards at 30 years old and he is one of them. Third and Long he was on the bench

I would actually prefer Marshall Faulk as he always got positive yardage, and he could catch
