All Napier's recruits... not Mullen specials. Timing is everything. We need to name the two new defensive position coaches.
Napier is losing kids that committed to his in ETN and Chris. That is alarming, as not Mullen kids transferring out. Two years in Billy’s culture and enhanced facilities and yet ready to leave
Ehhh, that’s a bit harsh as he was always going to lose SOME players from his first two recruiting classes after his 2nd year here. I’m sure every coach going into year 3 has loss some players to the portal that they brought in
I'll remember college football fondly. Like a college girlfriend. Who married a douche from law school. Got fat and ugly. Overdosed on Chardonnay. No phoenix will rise.
Why? He's going to be better off wherever he lands despite that deficiency. Especially if the rumors are correct.
Lets examine our OL run blocking. Mythically, "the company line on Gator internet boards" is that the UF OL run blocking was so bad in 2023 it was among the worst in America. So bad that our best RB should leave so he didn't get killed. FACT: In actuality we ranked #63 in rushing yards before contact (OL yards) at 3.15 per carry. The vaunted UGA offensive line ranked #31 at 3.30 per carry. We were basically average but not horrible. In comparison to SEC teams we ranked 7th of 14. Just adding perspective.
we shall see if it is true- if he is in the nfl next year than I will doubt even more the claim a college player will get 10-25 million for 1 season of football.
definitely possible. But…that doesn’t actually stop a coach from being hired and leaving his current gig. There are tons of examples happening every day. UCLA DC under contract, going to a bowl game, hired by USC to be their DC so he leaves UCLA. Chris Rumph was coaching for the Vikings and took a job at Clemson last week (Rumph had taken a leave of absence but was still under contract with the Vikings at the time) More examples include every head coach who has switched jobs already - Elko goes from Duke, who will be in a bowl, to A&M. Fritz leaves Tulane for Houston. Etc. etc. Billy Napier left ULL for UF - was under contract and skipped their bowl game. Half his assistants also left. Basically, every coach can break their current contract - often may involve a buyout the new employer needs to pay. There is always a way to get it done.
