Just to clear it up … according to arkansasonline, my favorite source for all news on the Walmart state …. “Manuel, who just completed his redshirt sophomore season, battled injuries during the 2023 season but played in nine games. He played 417 offensive snaps, according to PFF… “
Who cares about tackles when he only started a few times? He may be good, but some are acting like he is a great get and reality is he is probably like Dameon George.
Oh well. College football in the NIL era is awful. Every player is incentivized to transfer as many times as permitted. Teams will look totally different from year to year. I’m pretty much burnt out on it and it just started. But they are all Gators 4L, right?
Um, the whole discussion here is about a tackle so if you don't care about tackles why are you responding? Supposedly this guy was the starter and missed some time due to injury, unlike George. Again, who is in the portal that would be better?
In a chat with @BullG8orMagoo and he brought up an interesting take with all this portal madness… “The coaching philosophy has to change … and the skillset of coaches is going to have to adapt much more than it ever has. Coaches are going to really need to have a program and systems that are plug and play. Not steep learning curves of intricate calls and schemes. A stability of quality staff and environment as well as opportunity. You can’t hang your hat in “development” as your foundation anymore. Yes, you have to develop and teach but you have to do it in a player friendly system.”
