Evan Stewart posted on IG he's yet to get Any money from A&M and said "but yall out here thinking we millionaires"
I'm beginning to believe nearly all the journalists and podcasters covering Gator football are just poison for our program. They seem to delight in negative news which more than 50% of the time, ends up being totally false and they were just parroting something from some anonymous source. It's absolutely ridiculous these people stoop so low to get paid a meager amount of money to cover football.
I don’t keep up with them enough to know if the majority are being pushed out for incoming or a mass exodus of talent.
Somehow every sports league in the world found a way. It can be done but there will be a payroll. Once under contract, nil can’t sway a player. Without a draft though, I can’t see how it could work. It’s a mess.
Every other league didn’t have 100 years of fans/alumni directly covering all the costs and third party collectives in place to fundraise and pay for all the staff, players, and facilities. The UAA is essentially third party to the school. The entire thing is funded and run by the third party. Thinking you’re just going to make all that go away is a pipe dream.
It’s a lie even if it’s true. At minimum he’s receiving a stipend, so he’s received well more than a dollar. I find it hard to believe he hasn’t received any nil money too, unless he’s refusing to participate in whatever activities are required to receive it.
Before NIL people kept saying the athletes aren't getting compensated. Why did they keep playing for "free" then? Because the 100 years of infrastructure, Fandom, marketing, coaching, TV exposure, financial support, etc etc were unsurpassed by any XFL or minor league possible. Thst doesn't even take into account the value of their education, housing, food or ancillary benefits not to mention the disparate educational requirements to even set foot on campus. That was the value. Not UAAs. People keep talking contracts and unionizing but there is no way to do that under the current set up since we are talking about 3rd party facades paying players under the guise of NIL. What you have now is a pendulum swing that has given every bit of power to a kid or his handlers because there is no way to regulate a "3rd party" who chooses to offer money "for services" that isn't directly associated with a university.
A&M can’t give him money. So he’s not lying. Factually true statement, but misleading obviously. Dude should be a politician
A&M gives him a stipend, so it is definitely a lie. That comes directly from the school. He’s been given well more than a dollar. Whether he’s receiving NiL money is another story, and I have a hard time believing he’s getting zero NIL money, which is what he’s implying.
Wow so you’re so bent up on the technicalities that every single player who has ever said they didn’t get paid in college is a liar? Every school gives stipends. It goes without saying. Weird hill to die on. and no, he’s literally implying the opposite. NIL MONEY DOES NOT COME FROM A&M lol. By saying he hasn’t received a dime from A&M how do you think he’s talking about NIL?
