I wonder if he'll get a shot to carry the rock when he's here. Its in the bloodline... He'll be our version of the LSU kid we missed on who plays LB and RB.
You're thinking about his sophomore year... he was good last year, just not as good as this year. Here are his stats in high school. His junior year he was 67% pass completions, but in his sophomore year he was at 55% ... Derek Lagway's High School Football Stats
If we beat arky and Missouri with better end of game coaching, season looks differently and recruits may looks at us differently as well. Young team fighting hard
We also probably beat Mizzou if our starting QB didn't get hurt and we don't fumble the 1st hand off Brown attempted. We were driving when that happened. You can point out so many other points in the game that could have changed then outcome on the field but some of yall are fixated on not attempting to throw it down field on the road with 2 minutes left. Had CBN called for brown to throw it down field and he threw an interception and we never even take the lead yall would be saying CBN shouldn't have risked throwing it with a inexperienced freshman QB when we could have taken the lead with a FG.
We miss a FG against Ark. Gave up a 4th and 17 to Missouri. We were right there to win both even with the so called bad coaching
The coaches main job is to put his team, his players in a position to win the game, (not saying he is not ultimately responsible for the final results, as he is the HC) he definitely put us in position to win in Mizzou. Surprisingly Our offense performed as well as theirs, and they are a proficient offensive team. We both had UF500-MIZ 508 in total yards. Equal yards per pass avg, more rushing yards, better rushing ypc avg, more 1st downs, we won TOP, better completion %, etc. Our guys came to play that day. What truly hurt us was we didn't have a single starting LB ,,(all injured), both safeties are true freshman, and they were trying to over compensate for the missing talent in the middle by trying to come up and help in the run game more and got caught looking in the back field. Luther Burden is a beast. Well be ol though because even with those issues we still almost won, imagine when those issues are shored up
I do imagine, it would not take too much to turn things around IMO. So damn close to 7 - 4. Let's see if the kids can break through against FSU.
The underling coaches... not the DC per se, but you see what we all see happening on the field. I thin k our offense has been pretty good lately, but the defense needs help... better guidance.
Bottom line, it's always the coaches. For whatever reason. Bad recruiting, bad development of players, bad schemes, bad play calls, poor clock management, even player mistakes (which is related to bad development or bad recruiting). Nowadays, I could care less about how high a recruit is ranked. I want guys that are smart, motivated, can tackle/block and are strong, regardless of how they're ranked by the recruiting nerds. Lagway seems to be that kind of guy but also happens to be ranked high by the nerds. UCLA had a bunch of guys on their D on Saturday that were not ranked high but looked really good. Not that I'm a big fan of CK (I'm not).
right on about the caliber of player you want. UGA’s 2nd most dangerous offensive weapon was basically a 2* recruit at WR but dude plays hard, gets open, and makes plays. Get us guys thats willing to work hard and buy in regardless of their star ranking, and yes are talented and we will be fine. We all can CLEARLY see the potential on what CBN wants us to be in spurts every game, let’s just turn the corner next year. If our 2023 kids make the leap next season, the ones that are getting extensive PT this year, we can “afford” to not burn as much redshirts next year as we HAD to do this year.
