I went back and looked at Willis HS record over many years. Many years with 3-5 losses. Not perennial district champs and much better than other programs. Not like a St Thomas Acquinas HS in Ft Lauderdale. Lagway clearly a differentiator for them.
Hope after how we played against KY that he's still all in on us and plays like that when he gets here. What is the competition he's going up against like?
I feel.he is ALL gator. Just his character I feel wouldn't lead him to desert his commitment. Plus great players feel like they are the missing piece.. and in his case that may be true.
I'm glad CBN believe in him S his #1 qb target early and went all in on him and his family. So many talking heads dismissing him after the elite 11 but he looks to he putting those doubts to rest.
A very good HS friend sent me this today. I told him it would be coming soon. He just visited UGA, AUB and SC the last 3 Wknds His son (London Goggans), who plays for Grayson (GA), can play. 2027 6’1”. He can play basketball, as well. It’s where he gets his vertical from. His dad and I played ball together.
I definitely agree with this but there is a limit. At a certain point I can't blame the kid if he just decides averaging 300 all purpose yards a game at A&M or Clemson is better than being asked to win races in a car with square wheels.I think he's a great kid, and no matter what he does he's still a great kid. If he honestly asked me what he should do, I'd really struggle to not tell him that he would be taking a tremendous risk coming to Florida. At a certain point, when you're told to charge a hill on a suicide mission, you have to sacrifice complete loyalty to make the right decision.
If lagway l got it, then he's got it. Anthony richardson showed last year that you can still be a top five pick of talent alone. The exposure florida has would help any student athlete with getting seenu
But Richardson basically min/maxed getting drafted on talent alone. If he sees the writing on the call and transfers some where else instead of getting jerked around his whole sophomore season, maybe he puts 2 years of mediocre play on tape and it really hurts his stock. The fact that he only started a year prevented teams from seeing whether or not he's improving. Also he arrived on campus incredibly raw. Lagway is one of those high school QBs that's so developed, he's probably a lot closer to his career ceiling than Richardson may be to his now. NFL podcasts talk about that all the time. Many QBs get so much coaching at the high school level that they tend to look pretty much the same coming out of college, albeit with much more experience and football knowledge. On top of that, "Anthony richardson showed last year that you can still be a top five pick of talent alone" kind of glosses over the fact that he had the most athletically impressive combine for a QB in history. He set records and is one of the biggest QBs ever and I don't think he gets drafted in the top 10 if he isn't that incredible. Likely Lagway will not be that impressive, and likely will have a lot more tape for teams to look at. He will need to be great in this offense to look good to scouts, outside of raw talent, and his raw talent isn't what Richardson's was.
