In a way, I wish someone would ask BN that exact question in a PC...Frankly, I'll be surprised if it doesn't come up sooner or later. It'll be a little disappointing to me personally if the answer is yes, but it'll be interesting to hear how Billy decides to field it. I could imagine him being mildly irked by that question, to be honest. If it's against the rules, and it isn't a thing at UF, he may feel a little insulted. Maybe someone not named LB should ask the sports information people...

 

BN doesn't pay it, a 3 Rd party NIL would. He might not even know.

And if the kid asks for 5k for a visit and someone is willing to pay it, more power to them.

It sucks to get asked a question that everyone already knows the answer to but you can’t answer truthfully.

FSU was even more impressive in beating Clemson, as much as I hate those guys.

 

He got torched for 210 yards when matched up against a 2025 3 star Cocoa receiver who has interest in us. Everyone has an off game now and then but that sticks out to me that he likely has a lot of work to do before he would be game ready for FSU or us.

 

That was my assumption as well. A better way to express it might be if BN is OK with that happening in the name of the U of F - especially if that would be in direct violation of any NIL regs stipulating that NO NIL "cash transactions" can occur prior to a recruit signing with and being enrolled in a given school. If I have that wrong, please straighten me out, seriously. But the fact that we are here in this space throwing these kinds of semi-accusatory "what ifs" around is an issue that should be directly addressed IMO.

 

In the state of Florida it would be illegal as HS players cannot receive NIL.

I think that would be a no on Kelly. I don't think they were in the NFL at the same time.

Edit: they were not. JH was last in the NFL in 2010. Kelly moved up in 2013.

 

Thank you, I appreciate the confirmation. That's what has me a little piqued with this "situation." Billy has some gaps to fill in his repertoire as a HC. Not knowing basic right from wrong isn't one of them.

 

I listened to second half driving, and you just knew what was coming. They wouldn't stop talking about that kids story.

I hope that kid is alright today, that one is going to sting for awhile.

 

The RB Mafah has a 50 yard carry where he breaks multiple tackles and carries a guy on his back. They go hurry up and hand it to him again and kid is tackled behind the line of scrimmage. He’s clearly gassed, but they go no huddle again and this kid, with a fully fresh Shipley on the sideline, has a mental lapse and doesn’t stay in for pass pro, BECAUSE HE’S GASSED, and bam, there’s your scoop and score.

I see it happen all the time here between Montrell and ETN. Last night I was shocked to see ETN take himself out after three straight positive carries. But I was glad to see it.
