And the lawsuits are already being formulated. Denying a player the right to transfer without penalty who is on a one year scholarship/contract is a rule begging for a lawsuit. FTC is looking to outlaw non compete agreements. This rule is akin to such an agreement.
Or TCU for that matter. They lost their conference to a team tgat got crushed by Bama. Then they beat mich who was number 2. Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense.
I didnt mind them getting in, but yea TCU getting in was weird. I get why because they only had one loss but sheesh. I haaaate to say it, but if they really are trying to do the 4 best teams, I do believe that Bama should have replaced TCU.
1 loss is better than 2. TCU-1 Bama-2. Bama lost 2 in the regular season. TCU undefeated regular season. Lost in OT in post season.
indeed but they said the standard are 4 best teams and to a man, I can’t believe that Bama wasn’t better than TCU. Dont matter tho as I believe UGA was winning it all regardless. to me tbh, it should have been the conference winners from the P5 with one non P5 as the at large. Top two seeds gets a bye into the semi’s and you go from there. Idk why the CFP didn’t go that route from the start
Well I get the best non power 5 team but they should have to win their championship. What I don’t get is the big ten getting two teams in.
Bama didn't win their championship, they didn't even play for it. TCU is a P5 school. Same rational as above. Bama lost 2, OSU lost 1.
Bama was good enough but they shut tge bed this year. Lost two and almost lost three more. No one has a legit bitch for being left out.
Strongly disagree with the sentiment of 1loss is better than 2. Bama loses by 4 points total in 2 road games at death valley and neyland vs cake walk in the big 12 playin what teams
I've seen you mention this several times. Care to elaborate? I'm fairly certain it doesn't work like that.
The only players I’ve seen actually have their scholly’s “revoked” are walk ons, and that’s a different scenario. If we have extra scholly’s, it makes sense to use them, and let these kids who work so hard to help the team get a free semester or two, but we will likely need the scholly back for the following years incoming class. I don’t ever recall a scholarship athlete having their scholly revoked for non disciplinary reasons. We have given lots of kids 5 and 6 years worth of free school, housing, food, etc. Quite a few who weren’t top contributors too. We’re going to have exit interviews at the end of each season to discuss where the players fit the following year. Some are going to be told they don’t really have a role here and should likely explore other options, but we aren’t just simply taking their scholarships away. If we truly don’t have the roster room and they absolutely want to stay here, we likely even figure out how to make that work for them. Grad assistant, hardship, etc.
Every scholarship is a one yr scholarship unless specifically specified by the university. It is renewable by the university on a yearly basis. The university can withdraw or reduce the scholarship each year.
