Thats a big drop from being a highly sought after DC. It seems he made a few bad decisions thinking he was going to get picked up by the NFL or given a HC job in college.
Maybe he's just waiting for some kinks to be worked out with PR for the other Ilinois school... Northwestern. They currently still only have a interim HC.
Doubt it. He should have had a job at a minimum as a DC for a P5 school within weeks of him leaving Wisky at the end of last season. I remember people calling for Toney to be let go and bring Leonard in.
I'm just guessing as to whybhe would make such a odd move. Only thing I can think of is it's just a place holder in the event he gets the job. A lot easier and and less disappoint leaving an analyst position after a few weeks then a actual coaching position. And then there's always the possibility nobody wants the PR and legal mess that's soon to follow NW ordeal and JL may get it because no one else wants it. But I agree he a as being highly thought of in the coaching ranks.
Not really - Leonard played under Beilema his senior year of college. He is basically taking the year off to be an analyst under his former coach.
leonard played under Beliema while at Wisconsin (his senior year BB was his DC). Likely just staying in the game as an analyst just like Muschamp did at Georgia and upteen guys ar Bama.
