I will defer judgement on how much fat weve trimmed until I see Big Dez's ass...that alone probably accounts for 20% of the team fat.
Roster https://247sports.com/college/florida/Team/Florida-Gators-Football-170/Roster/ 2023 class + transfers https://247sports.com/college/florida/Season/2023-Football/Commits/ You're right. I just looked at last year's roster and then the incoming class (links above), there are only a few that are obvious non-contributors and/or early departures for the NFL. Therefore, the remaining spots are gold. There is no way we're taking 3 more WR's and holding a spot for Smith or Trader. Same with DL - we took 5 HS players, 2 portal players and a JUCO last year. Maybe Kendall or McCray and save a spot for Stone, Ross or Simmons. The way I see it: 2 CBs 1 more S 1 more Edge 1 more LB (Kris Jones or no one) 1 more DL (Kendall or McCray) 1 more OL 1 more TE 1-2 more WR *The wiggle room is minimal but you find a way if any of those studs want in. RB and QB in the portal next year.
I’d say if a kid is a sophomore this year, he better get himself in the two deep quick if he wants a spot next year
These are the types of problems I've been waiting for. So much better then the other types We've been dealing with last few years
I had that thought a while ago. Legal as far as I know and tuition is a drop in the hat for a plus one type.
dont think he is still a take. He was supposed to work out for UF coaches last Wednesday (or maybe the Wednesday before that) but he did not work out. don’t think they will take him until he does work out.
No plus ones are taking walk on offers, unless your definition of a plus one is way different than mine. It’s legal for a walk on to get NIL, but you aren’t going to bring in any real talent that way. Scholarship athletes get WAY more than just tuition.
Isn't that semantics at this point though? I'm not sure how gaining entrance as a student works if a star athlete became a "walk on" but can't an NIL deal just pay for school, board and amenities and then some? Isn't that the concern, that we will have Bama/Bryant tactics again where they hoard talent even more than they have?
