Agreed. Being in the top 10 (say #9) is not so (GREAT) when 6 other SEC teams are ahead of you in the rankings. The SEC is just crazy competitive in recruiting and is why the conference usually brings home the trophies.
There are thousands of solid players out there and hundreds of special talents among them. We will get ours, a few more each year as long as CBN keeps this moving in the right direction
Agreed. Though playing devils advocate, both classes were smaller than typical classes (25 or even more). The amount of players signed is pretty much the total players we often would sign minus non qualifiers or players who bailed early. Leaving us with the same # we usually end up with.
Unfortunately he has only taken an unofficial visit. No OV scheduled. Does anyone know if he's planning to take an OV to UF?
The "problem", in my opinion, is that the Gators haven't developed an elite NFL RB since Fred Taylor, well before these recruits were even born ... plain and simple. I don't think this is a reflection of Napier. Schools like UGA, Clemson and Bama just have to show kids the list of all the elite NFL RBs they've developed just in the last decade compared to UF and it's an easy sell. The same negative sell is used against us at QB, WR and just about every other offensive position. The opposite situation works in our favor on the defensive side of the ball where we've excelled. I don't think this will change until we start developing elite players on offense. The Florida Gator offenses have underperformed for almost the entire lifetime of these kids. Pitts gives us some credibility to sell at TE. If Dameon Pierce continues to perform, that will help us at RB. If Trask becomes a quality starter, that will help too.
Him, Robinson, and a project like Michai Boireau (or/and Jayden Jackson) is a great haul at DT if we can manage to get all 3. Then you can shoot for the stars at DE/Edge for guys like Kendall Jackson (SSDE), try to flip Evans from A&M, McCray, Jordan Ross, Amaris Williams, etc
That is great news. Can you imagine he and Lagway recruiting for UF? Damn ... deadly combo. I know, I know ... let's get him on campus first. Go Gators!
