I’m still in a holding pattern about his youth & experience…but I heard someone say if Kirby & Muschamp had a baby it would be Armstrong. Which is kind of funny. Hope it’s true.
Different times but give Spurrier that kind of talent advantage and he does what Saban has done and more. Saban and Bama changed the recruiting game first and foremost.
I know it feels like it's been forever since we've really been relevant in football, in the SEC etc, but I gotta admit it feels good to see us consistently grouped in things like this among this group of teams. I know we joke about how we've been relegated to UK and USCe status but these things prove to me we are still just on the outside cusp of great succes once more. I've seen many too, drafted player %, blue chip ratio %, etc. It's up there, few pieces still to add and need to keep increasing our talent level thru the recruiting but I feel like we are not far from being in that top 3 In SEC and perennial top 10 nationally.
Less the polls and its voters and more of just really "Feeling" and "looking" week to week like a top 3 SEC team.
If Billy gets it done on the field it is likely we will be in that top 3 in 3 years. The blue chip count this year could be as good as last year with higher overall quality. He is killing it right now.
Should be better than last year given the early commits. I’ll be surprised if there aren’t at least two 5* commits. Might already have two. Lagway is making a big difference.
71% seems to be a good cutoff point. 7/10 should be in the top. Three out of ten being recruited through good scouting can get us competitive.
Overall payer ranking last year was close to as good as it gets. We had low number of recruits because of our immediate needs from the portal. I think our hs numbers stay low and we still hit the portal kind of heavy for at least one more year.
