He was also participating in all the charity events.
Oh it’s a big loss for sure I’m just saying it doesn’t feel that surprising. If it wasn’t him it would probably be something else. At this point I would just be happy with Johnson and Wilson actually making it on campus.

Common Orangeblue_coop L. Yes…don’t believe your lying eyes. Trust the NFL GMs that regularly get fired horrible drafting. He didn’t live up to his OWN STANDARD (alleged standard, that he said at the combine) at UF. Or are these again just my lying eyes?

I think that there is a good chance Napier knew AR was leaving, and for future recruiting purposes, acts like he wanted to protect ARs health and protect the athlete, citing QB depth as the reason he didn’t run into open lanes. Kitna could’ve also only won 6 games. But sure, keep shilling

My eyes showed me an athletic QB with accuracy issues, which is what he always was and was projected to be. Again it’s your own fault if you were one of the casual fans who expected a Heisman-level season from him.

And Kitna would’ve won you 6 games and then had the program in the news with the headline “Florida Gators starting QB arrested with illegal porn” but I get the feeling some “fans” would’ve preferred that scenario over Anthony Richardson who has done nothing to embarrass the program.

Richardson is ultimately responsible for Richardson. If he goes down in the Hall of Fame as the greatest quarterback ever, we are not going to talk about who coached him at high school college or the pros.

Richardson is a great kid and represented as well. But you were probably right on the six wins part and that’s the part I care about the most. While I believe he was protecting himself, which could be due to himself or Napier, or a combination of both, he will not do that in the NFL, or he will not be there long I expect to see a different amount of effort as a professional, but I also have my doubts that he can ever be an elite passer in the NFL.

There has been a long list of Gator QBs who have gotten kicked off the team for various reasons, underwhelmed and underperformed since the glory days of Tebow, for some reason none of them get slandered as much as AR, tho. Baffling behavior.

Agreed, Richardson is responsible for Richardson and Kitna is responsible for Kitna. So when Kitna does something stupid, disgusting, deplorable and selfish to harm himself and the team by leaving them short-handed at QB, then Richardson's name shouldn't even be brought up. Yet somehow, it was.

i dont think anyone is saying AR is above being criticized for his play, he brought that on himself at times with his play, but i dont see where he as a PERSON deserves criticism

Agree....but the "leadership" aspect kind of falls into the middle area. It is a personality facet and is a bit of an intangible. But it really has to be considered when evaluating a qb

true and that’s up for debate as well. Never heard a bad thing mentioned about AR as a leader. Not every leader going to be the “rah rah” type ya know? Anyways, best of luck to him. Wish he could go to Houston and pair up with Pierce

Absolutely up for debate, that's fair. I will counter that I have heard bad things in that regard. Not bad person in any way at all, just not the leader type was my takeaway. But certainly wish the best for him no matter where he lands.

So you see an elite, freaky athletic QB with accuracy issues and think, “man, this guy should throw more instead of taking that 10 yard jog where he could go untouched and using his #1 skillset”? Horrible

Not once did I say he was heisman caliber, you’re purposefully being dramatic.

Ahh yes…because we all knew Kitna was a sicko at any point during the season?… What a seriously dumbass statement. Obviously, very obviously, I’m talking about the back up quarterback being able to step in if AR did actually get hurt, which is why you said he couldn’t use the skill he was best at (being a mobile QB)

you’re just purposefully diluting and dramatizing everything I’m saying at this point. Hence your common horrible takes

I sure don't. I'm simply a fan, a spectator, an observer. I don't tell these supreme athletes who do the things that I could never dream of doing athletically how to perform their jobs. I'm not arrogant enough to tell them what they should be doing, who they should be throwing to, when and where they should be running. I play my role as a fan accordingly. I cheer when they win, get upset when they lose and move on. If you feel like you can do better, then put on some pads and get out there and show Anthony Richardson how it should be done.

Right. Some QB’s pick up the nuances of being a QB faster than others. Will AR put it all together? Time will tell. Another thing folks dont realize is…imagine how it would/could of been for him if he had a defense worth a snot? The offense did everything you could ask for against UT, LSU, and FSU only to be hindered by a POORUS defense. Imagine how even more potent the offense in 2020 could have been had they not always had to deal with the “first team who punts, loses” lol
