He keeps the ball and we win like 3 more games. It’s baffling really. I’m rooting for AR to go #1, but I do realize he’s got the physical attributes without the mental makeup that makes for a good QB and a good leader. I am hoping he puts it all together with today’s NFL though as the league will protect him.
You hit the nail on the head right there. We just wish he would have been that guy and he has all tgat physical ability. If he ever becomes all pro, I think it’ll take several years as he has a long way to go. I think first off, he needs to belie in himself because he sure looks like he has his doubts at times. I also think he tried to win from the pocket against lesser teams and he didn’t have that at ability just yet. I think that compounded his mental adver that he seemed to be having. When he ran hard in games because he knew he had to, he seemed looser and more comfortable passing also. Sometimes he was a decent passer and other times he was downright horrible. He’s got to get out of his own head if he’s going to be successful. He’s a likable guy and we gators are pulling for him.
He should have started the previous year all year. Sure he wasn’t ready but it may have helped last year. Mullen picked the wrong guy imo. The only drawback I see in that theory is that he may have not gotten better and cost himself a ton of money. At this point, he hasn’t really proven he can even be a starting qb for the lower third of the nfl but he’s dang sure about to get 20 MILLION DOLLARS!!!!! Maybe it worked out absolutely perfectly for the kid. Let’s hope he gets to that second contract and wins the first Super Bowl for a firmer gator qb. Heck, if he’s a total bust, I wish I was that kind of bust too.
People were hoping for what Bryce Young and Trevor Lawrence did as redshirt freshman in a better physical package. He was in his third year and was no where close. New coach, new system, didn’t have the receivers or a defense to rely on. But also, he wasn’t there yet either. Hope he gets there. All I know is he’s about to get paid.
Right. The run first QB not running when he has literally nobody in front of him time and time again, isn’t easy. Why do you coddle him like a baby? Your excuses for him are hilarious though.
Yes, you’re right. I expected better than 53% completion percentage. I expect the same out of the Walk ons. Very high expectations indeed….
We were expecting him to run the ball when the space to run is there. Which was time and time and time again.
Not coddling him and not making excuses, just being real. Listening to rabid fans adamantly tell others what players “should” and “could” be doing on the court/field is the most hilarious part of sports.
