If we are to believe Rashada’s offer then it sounds as if Billy got involved or Florida got involved and pulled the deal on or around December 7th. I shouldn’t say Billy himself pulled but I think he or Florida realized it was not realistic and pulled back.
I think your pretty spot on. May be wrong but heard one source say Billy didn’t know numbers. When he found out he acted.
The guy at the top is the most important in recruiting. He needs to be a coordinator and take orders from above.
He’s not the first player to majorly unimpress at UF and he certainly won’t be the last. If you expected one player to take a team that had plenty of flaws anywhere last year, then it sounds like you should’ve tempered your expectations. Anyway the AR era is over, time to find a new scapegoat if UF football underwhelms again next season.
Soooo ...... The rules say, the MOST IMPORTANT person in the process CAN'T negotiate numbers or be involved with NIL deals. The head coach. And of course the PR folks at every University squawk (On no Coach does not get involved). What a bunch of B.S. Water is not wet and politicians are honest............LOL Folks can believe that all they want, I personally do not. Like everything else in the SEC, rules are written to be intentionally broken by the power players that are immune to consequences. Most here know what schools those people represent. Not involved my _ _ _
It’s all speculation as it is illegal and nobody is talking about what went on. Whatever they’re paying lag. Way is going to be worth it because he is absolutely necessary for the program, I don’t care what it is.
Any team that drafts AR with the first 10 picks is making a major reach. It’s undeniable that he has the physical gifts to be an elite quarterback, but the chances of that happening to me seem to be very slim.
I wouldn’t go that far, it’s not Napiers fault the one serviceable back-ups that we had liked children. It’s not ARs fault either
Rashada was important but, if the going rate of 500,000 for top300 recruits is true, you’re talking about several recruits that we would no longer be able to afford for one guy. If he’s a Heisman Trophy winner, sure he’s worth it. If he’s a top 30 quarterback, like AR was, hell no.
Just some 2 cents about Tebow/ Mullen from a guy who was the last on the Mullen train and who read the Tebow book... As you might expect, Tebow loved almost every single person who he named in the book. Meyer, teammates, Mike Shula, and almost everyone Tebow ever met was lavishly praised. Tebow is not a guy to dish dirt. Again, no shock. But the one guy who Tebow hardly praised was Mullen. Not only this mention- but other pages too. Tebow would say things like he and Mullen didn't see eye to eye- things like that. Of course, Tebow being Tebow, his final comment about Mullen was positive. But I always thought it was interesting. I chalked it up to Mullen being more nerdy/ studious, but I guess it was more than that. Also interesting is that Foley (supposedly) couldn't stand Mullen and never considered him when we had the opening after Muschamp. I still think he would be a great OC- not that he would ever want to do that again...
