I'm as big a Tebow fan as anyone, but let's face it he had a supporting cast that was amazing. All the way from the head coach on down including Harvin, Hernandez, Cooper, Louis Murphy, David Nelson, Andre Caldwell, Deonte Thompson and Frankie Hammond, Jr all who played in the league. And a little better defense than we had last year. Trask had 2 first round draft picks one at TE and one at WR. Remember all the flack they caught for skipping the bowl game? No, I don't either. Regardless, even without them Trask led us to a glorious bowl...oops never mind. I seem to remember us having one TD pass in that game...who was it that threw that???
random but i believe things would been slightly different, a few more wins, had AR not hurt his hamstring in 2021 against USF. i believe he would have played more against Bama and Kentucky if not outright taken over the job before the LSU game and just been more seasoned going into this past season
Problem is, Richardson left us high and dry with no backup to fill his spot. Add to that he never produced much outside of a few performances that were above average vs many that were less than average. People didn't mind Trasks supporting cast skipping a bowl because they did everything for a few years. Trask could have skipped the bowl as well for all he gave us during his four years. Richardson, not so much.
This is a very valid point. As great as Tebow was, he definitely had a ton of help, some of the greatest football talent to ever step onto the field at UF was blocking for him, catching passes from him and terrorizing opposing offenses. And of course legendary coaching. The recent 180 folks have done on AR is amusing, he was the apple in a lot of fan’s eyes after Trask left.
I know exactly what you mean. Couldn’t stand him. Then I was actually hoping that he would replace CDM.
You mean he was the apple in a lot of peoples eyes- until he actually played and was extremely underwhelming?… what was his completion percentage again?
Blaming Richardson for our QB room is unfair but I blame Mullen way more than Napier for that one. I support Napier but was disappointed in how we failed to land defensive transfers when we need LBs and linemen so badly. Napier had to go with Richardson and Miller could have been an adequate backup except for his injury but Mullen dropped the ball big time in 2021 with our QB room which set up 22 as well.
Gator football as a whole has been underwhelming for over a decade now. Shrug. High enough to be a 1st round draft pick
His body of work leaves much to be desired if he wanted a statue. He is going to be one of our highest draft picks ever though.
It seems to me he will be drafted high based on his size, speed, strength and potential. Let me say I hope he succeeds. He stuck with Florida and represented the university well. But based on my observation of him as an accurate passer or ability to read defenses I just think he doesn't have it and may never. He will be going up against top dbs and DC's who will scheme against him. Inconsistency won't cut it long in the nfl. Yes he is fast but so is nfl linemen. As muscle bound as he is I could foresee a lot of pulled hamstrings or other injuries. One other thing that hasn't really been discussed a lot and that is how will he handle adversity? High picks tend to bring high pressure and stress. How will he handle bad throws, incompletions, picks, and sacks? Will he go into a shell? Will he be able to handle criticism from coaches, reporters and fanbase? Just my 2 cents but I hope he proves many of us doubters wrong. I really do.
Yeah I wouldn’t answer with a number either. Yes, players go too high based on potential every year. Good for him, he still majorly underimpressed at UF and did nothing to take UF. I wouldn’t want any of the teams I follow to draft him if I’m being honest.
Did Napier force Kitna to watch child porn? Did Napier kick Richardson out the door? Did Napier ignore people in transfer portal that could actually be admitted by UF?
I hope with all of my being that he heard those numbers floating around and pulled the plug. Rashada isn't worth anywhere near what was being reported, especially with Lagway in the next class.
