Rhett is a great take here and I like your Percy comment, but Fred Taylor immediately came to mind when I read the question.

Say what you will about character, etc, but this is a GREAT hire for A&M. They are willing to pay the price to win.

I didn’t even look but the pay for Escambia county schools here is pretty sad. No wonder we don’t have quality teachers. My mom taught in Florida elementary level only because she wanted to help, money wasn’t really an issue. If it’s about the money, Florida hs coaches would look elsewhere. Maybe that’s why the great qbs usually come from other states. We have the talent but our coaching staffs statewide on the average aren’t on the level some are. Private schools are a different animal.

Emmit was pretty damn good at short yardage and could catch that swing pass well also.

Absolutely. Everyone always looks at inner city schools based on numbers. Looking at the rural schools with very few resources and even smaller hiring availability and knowledge sharing can be a serious wake up call for some.

We have definitely suffered from some recency bias because those two should absolutely be considered

As a defensive tackle, I played against Dubose (Sarasota Riverview H.S.) and he was fast and tough to bring down.
