I sit up here in Tide territory and watch them pull in yet another top class. And I see our program ham strung trying to
‘Play by’ the NCAA rules and state laws. Trying to reward the guys that are already on the team and telling new guys they gotta earn it. And watching some of the staff not pull their weight in recruiting. Seems like the rich just get richer. Pitiful.

 

I actually thought Bateman made Burney much better. Burney was a surprise overall.

 

100% correct with coaching. He did a pretty good job.

3. The biggest takeaway was the NIL discussion. It’s abundantly clear BN is going to be about relationships first & anything else second, & there were guys we thought we had locked in through those relationships, but other factors became more decisive (feel free to guess which).

Now that NIL exists and pay for play is legal, if Billy truly thought relationships would prevail over the all powerful dollar then he is clueless and off to a bad start as the UF HC.

By all means build those relationships to find out who is coachable, teachable, and willing to be a team player. But be ready to fork out the cash. Our competitors are doing ir without climbing on a moral high horse, why do we think being different will prevail?
