It’s pretty much been laid out that UF isn’t going to play the NIL negotiating game. UF isn’t gonna get top 5 classes. Maybe they fine tune things for 2024 after seeing their failures this year? . BN will get better classes than we’ve had since Meyer but he’s not going to top the playoff contenders. UF isn’t set up that way in this new environment. Maybe a new president has some impact?

Some of you really get worked up over stuff you have no control over.

BN has also done a good job of surprising us. Everyone gets in the dumps and he pulls stuff from out of his hat.

Good point on the new president. He’s a football fan and knows a happy football fan and alumni base will only help boost the academic profile of the school.

I agree with everything you said with one exception. It is pure speculation to believe that this conservative approach will always prohibit us from attaining a subjective top 5 class. Maybe, in a couple years, recruits will figure out the fast money for shit programs doesnt hold up. A very nice income, coupled with all UF has to offer, proves to be the way better value over their 3-4 years.

He actually surprised me in a bad way. Witness the way the season unraveled. After South Carolina he had me thinking 8-4.

I can agree with that. I still think some of the mercenary type players are still probably going to go to the highest bidder.

Certainly an ugly way to end the season, but I think the national outlook for UF was 7-5 to 6-6. I think even Mullen had UF around there. Beating Utah and losing to Vandy were the anomalies. Utah raised expectations too much IMO. Play that game 5 times and I think Utah wins 4 of them.

    Top of the ridge
I think some forgot exactly where we were unde rMullen. Napier made us all think we were back with the win over Utah. We had a wildly inconsistent Qb in his first year starting. Our best rb was a transfer from UL and a freshman. Our wr were subpar except for the transfer fro Arizona state. Our defense hasn’t been good in years and had cancers on it that needed to be removed.
We have a top ten recruiting class coming in after a 6-7 season. We have the top Qb committed for the next class.
How about everyone realize it’s a process… a long tough ugly process. Mullen didn’t build a program. He could call plays and that is all. It is t enough.
Let’s give Napier sometime to build the program back and let’s realize the landscape of college football has changed dramatically over the last theee years and is still in the process of change. NIL, transfer portals, 5th and 6th year players… it’s going to take some time.

Definitely not a thrilling notice... BUT, what is stopping Napier from grabbing 2 transfers? I mean, Miller is an injury away from starting if a better rated transfer comes. Might as well bring in two this portal season!
