    You have to trust the staff to evaluate and Napier & Co certainly seem thorough.

    Stars do matter, to a point. Size and frame wise for a HS player, the TE out of WA state looks similar to the prototypical NFL TE like Kelce or Kittle. Athletic 6'4", 250lb players out of HS isn't all that common. Kelce was a 2 star while Kittle was a 3 star. Talent certainly can fall through the cracks of these recruiting rankings.
