Well so be it hopefully we can land some additional DL help in the portal and keep the kids we have. Not sure how likely that actually is at this point. We also don’t know who on the current roster won’t end up in the portal as well.

There are some current verbals getting big dollar offers to flip on ESD. Could get worse. NIL is a problem. We can’t compete in that space with Miami, TAM, …. UF better learn to leverage portal more quickly and effectively, as they will be perennial 2nd or 3rd place finishers for those waiting to make decisions on signing day

 

I think it was bad luck getting stuck playing the bowl game this weekend and a big disadvantage for the staff. Last big recruiting weekend before ESD and last weekend for portal kids to visit schools until sometime next month and the Gators are stuck in Vegas playing the bowl game. The staff couldn't concentrate on recruiting like they needed too.

 

Yes, and playing them in football only makes them look like a competent football program. We need to cancel them in the future and let them get stomped in the ACC... where they belong.

I agree with this. But is it a question of these “losses” hurting us than helping Miami?

 

Yeah all isn't well. It's a problem. I'm just not going to jump off a cliff because of some obvious glitch in the system. I'm certainly not going to feed into the social media buzz about Miami because that is exactly why ruiz is attacking our class. It shouldnt disteact from how much of a mess they were this year. It seems like people are giving Miami a pass. our season was pretty bad but you'd think it was as bad as Miami's and it wasn't.

Recruits are raving about the staff and experience in Gainesville and then signing elsewhere. Ship will get righted or it won't but I don't think it's a level playing field right now. Gonna have to wait and see what happens with all of this

 

I would rather that the coaches weed out the pay-for-play clowns now than have them on the team whining about the lack of NIL money later on. I still think there are plenty of portal players that will be available after the bowl season is over.

And we have the core group of players with the QB of the future already on board so, things aren't a bleak as some here think it is. We have young good running backs and a good one committed, but it seems that we're getting greedy for more. Yes, I wanted another running back but there are other positions of need more so than at running back.

We need ever big-ugly and big-nasty that we can get, and it looks like we will have to commit to Portal Kombat to get them.

Forget expecting a miracle on ESD, that way you don't get disappointed if nothing new or really good happens.

There are many more good players that have not even entered the Transfer Portal yet, and we will see good/great talent soon after the bowls are over.

We also have a great group of receivers coming in and DBs too. That leave the LB, D-line, and O-line with a tight end, or two, that we have to pick up in the portal. Still doable.

 

Don't care at all about a bidding war for a runningback. I'm not sunshine pumping. I do see losing out on certain positions like Oline Dline and linebackers as a problem but as you, we will have to use the portal maybe more early on. Is what it is.

 

The sooner some of you come to terms with the idea that UF probably isn’t gonna compete on the trail against the heavy NIL players the sooner you can relax. It’s just not gonna happen at UF.

The constant complaining about it isn’t gonna change that either.

The Ruiz obsession needs to stop as well.

 

Possible. But if the country is doing it, then the UAA will regret being left out of this.

 

Yes, we’ve seen that many times before. I just don’t believe UF is gonna play at the highest level. I think more in line with Michigan. Great for the Big10 not so much for SEC in regards to competing near the top. I’ve lowered my expectations. It’s less stressful. 10/11 wins is UF’s ceiling IMO.
