Well there use to be a rule where players could not transfer within the SEC right? I guess that went away with the portal. Maybe something like that comes back in the future.

It's going to take some restrictions on portal movement and conferences establishing agreements between them to discourage contacting players under scholarship at another university. The problem is if everyone isn't on board, across the country then exercising these limitations will put your conference at a disadvantage.

I didn't think lagway was considering Miami. Rashada yes and I'm definitely grateful for our class. We have a genuinely great class top to bottom. I don't care about class rankings rather what we need and we seem to strike out at OL/LB way more than we win. If fletcher wants Miami so be it but it is tiresome to hear how well we sit with people and then lose out in the last minutes.

 

I don't know how you can see that, much less live it, and not play today if you have the option. Hopefully we will see more loyalty in coming years.

 

Agree. This is a non-problem. The kid should be accepting calls from Divsision II and work his way up, like the portal players are doing. Work your butt off like Torrence at a lower level and get rewarded with a move up once you have developed and proved yourself. You've proved nothing against kids who are bagging groceries.

 

What I want to see now is another #51 who can also defend against the pass

I would think overtly publicizing the $ aspect for incoming Freshman as is the case when you have a booster seemingly so involved in recruiting, would be a toxic ingredient to your overall team chemistry. The one notable data point up to now seems to suggest it to me(Ta&m).

 

I agree but part of me thinks that is us resorting to wishful thinking. aTm is a tangible example of what you say but that doesn't mean it will go that way every time. Bama and Georgia have managed talent loaded rosters who assumingly have been getting paid for some time. We'll see. Time will tell. Go gators.
