We've ALLLLL said for years that wins and losses aren't THAT huge in recruiting as long as you have a staff of recruiters. We're going to win our fair share of recruiting wars for big time kids AND LOSE wars for some big time kids too but just some every cycle and you're good.

It was tiring under Mullen hearing SOME folks push the "when we win, they'll come" narrative when Champ and Zook showed that you don't need to win big to recruit big. If the last staff actually cared about recruiting, they'd still be employed by UF. It's criminal how negligent they were in recruiting.

 

I think we land at least half the guys on that list.

 

Does that count as a commitment?

 

While i'm at it, i'm going to say the 3 dates that are going to be HUUUUUUGE recruiting weekends in 2023 are:

The Spring Game (would love for em to do the Thursday night deal again)
FNL 2023
FSU 2023

I went back and forth with thinking either the UT or FSU game will be THEE recruiting weekend for a lot of OV's etc but in the end, how will it NOT be the FSU game especially if they keep it on Black Friday night next year? That game is going to be ELECTRIC no matter our recruit. I can see it rivaling our recruiting weekend visit (big time kids in town) the 2021 Bama game and the Utah game this year.

 

Major red flags that we couldn't pull in offensive recruits after 2020 with what we had going. Jefferson, Swain, Toney, Cleveland, Pitts, Perine, in the NFL and yet we couldn't snag a top tight end, WR or RB? Not to mention the QB mess....

 

You mean the Twins? (2 wins). I bought à Henderson jersey at TJ Maxx for $5 à few weeks ago. Then I realized why it was so cheap.

 

Especially true since we put a better product on the field in 2019 and 2020 (0ffensively) than the previous years but saw no improvement with recruiting.

 

This is what I have been saying all along the way.

 

Not being a factor for an elite TE after what Pitts did in 2019 and 2020 was deplorable. If our current staff was in place after Pitts had the two years he had at UF, they woulda sewn Brock Bowers up easily.

 

I wanted to say STHU, but I went for the PG version.

 

I'm good with it if you did. Trust me I wish none of that happened. Not sure you know how much I despise Georgia fsu and Bama and how much I want the Gators to be relevant again in December and on.
