I thought it was hilarious. I got it saved on my phone. Watched it like 10 times. It’s the only good spot about that game. I am not speaking for everyone, but sometimes some people are to sensitive. And yes I am referring to black people. I am black so don’t @ me.

Stokes took it upon himself to record his actions and then, proceed to post online.

I am not making any pro or con statements. I am just curious if Papa Stokes had anything to say.

This is a particularily sensitive subject IMO, for all parties concerned.

Why? Scholarship offers are not binding. UF doesn’t even need a reason. I am pretty sure schools offer more scholarships than they have every year. What really matters is how many are signed.

Similarly, the athlete has not signed so can back out of the commitment for a scholarship.

Then just say that. Don’t blame it on something ridiculous like that. That’s a cop out.

Sensitive or insensitive, black or white - one thing is absolutely beyond dispute. Peter Burns is a colossal doosh-monkey. End of rant.

Am I wrong for thinking that is scummy to do by the staff? Using the social norm around a word to use it an excuse to cut ties with somebody….when they wouldn’t have done it if they didn’t have another option? So they would bend their own rule on this matter if Rashada wasn’t committed? This doesn’t sit right with me lol

Nothing wrong with Bobby’s statement. And I think we need to let this go. There were going to be some happy & unhappy people on either side of this regardless of the decision. There is a thread in Too Hot if you weigh in on the merits of For or Against.

Not a lawyer, would not want to be one either. Laws are made and broken by rich powerful people at their leisure. btw, I am not in that category. I have to work for a living, pay bills and obey whatever BS laws are fosted upon me.

As far as I know this society allows people to sue over anything for any reason provided you have the money to waste. (I don't).

I was just curious what direction the Stokes family may be taking this.

Understood, but UF hasn’t commented on the scholarship pull that I am aware of. This is all according to the athlete as to the reason. Now, if UF was bad mouthing him for some bizarre reason to reduce his opportunities, then yea that would be a problem, because I don’t think they are even allowed to comment on a player until they sign.

The more I think about it I the more I think maybe UF didn’t actually revoke his offer. What if Stokes was getting hints already from the staff to maybe start looking around? Or if not that overt about it we were telling him it’s going to be a deep qb room (a transfer or two brought in, maybe a third qb this year, two next year, AR is saying privately he’s coming back, etc.) and he may not see the field for a long time.

Stokes would obviously be ticked off knowing he is starting to get processed out. Then the unfortunate incident happens which he would be embarrassed about regardless. He was already looking around anyway to try and get a school lined up after “decommitting” knowing he didn’t have a spot here.

So he took his mistake as an opportunity to make Florida look bad on the way out the door. A middle finger to UF.

Maybe a conspiracy theory but plausible.
