Trimming the fat is a necessary evil in this new landscape. We talk about the issues with NIL and the transfer portal, which there are many, but one benefit I see is accountability for everyone. You dont play well, dont follow the rules, and help create a bad team culture, you are out.

The money has come for players (Legally), its truly a business now. You need coaches who can both build these players into responsible men and also be cutthroat (remove the fat when necessary.)

Totally agree. I guess it's just kinda' surprising to see how quickly the aura of iron discipline can dissipate under the pressure of intense competition mixed with some degree of frustration and disappointment - even at Bama. Saban must be having an existential crisis.

 

And they get paid to do this

 

Ah ha, it is I then who is not reading. Lol. I actually didn't know he called rashada his twin too. But Obviously they are all fraternal twins as they don't look a like.

It’s just from a shoot they did on the visit. It was tweeted out by Gage and he was definitely recruiting him to OU at that time. That doesn’t mean Lagway or Gage are going there. I was just saying they have an existing relationship.

 

Id get fired. Doesn’t seem fair.

 

Gage is a Florida Boy. Not many Florida kids leave Florida for Oklahoma (not to say he won’t), but not many Texas kids visit Florida 4 times. Can’t believe OU has made DJ feel like family, if he’s only visited a time or two. Florida coaches visited Nov 5th too.

OU has been a disappointment and Florida appears to be on the right path.

Just trying to put it all together as the Crystal Ball guys do, but theirs a reason I’m not paid to make projections. Fingers crossed.

 

I went thru DJs twitter feed some to find it, but couldn’t. Started to feel like a stalker and backed off.

 

That's what we had to do under SOS and Meyer, I don't care what anyone says. Officials flagged the crap out of us whether we earned those penalities or not. Irks the hell out of me that teams like bama and uga don't get the same treatment.

 

Which staff went to see him? Has his family been to Gainesville?

I believe he has been to Gville with his family. Believe he shared thy in a YouTube video. He has also called Florida his dream school. Not sure which coaches visited, but here is a vague link and saw another twitter post that coaches were on site.
