30+ years ago. That had that string of a dozen years of Kosar, Testeverde, Walsh, Ericsson and Torretta

I made nothing up, that's only what I remembered from last year (many here were touting EJ for the Heisman). No disrespect intended, he just have the stats to justify talking up Heisman.

The small sample size for AR makes it difficult for accurate comparisons, but that's all we have at this point. Looking at the numbers EJ had better % completion and lower Int/attempt ratio (65% vs 59% completion rate and he threw 1 pick per 27 passes while AR threw 1 pick per 13 passes. On the other hand, AR threw 1 TD per 10 passes while EJ threw 1 TD/18 passes.

I'm not being pessimistic, just being a realist. If he lights up Utah, pUKe and slUT, then I'll join the Heisman bandwagon.

Sad, but true, known as QBU. Fortunately, that moniker has long since faded.

You're not wrong. I would say the optimism for AR is due to several things that Jones didn't have though. Stats aside, Richardson showed more ability to read progressions, lead recievers, drive downfield and lead drives despite having less time in the program and way less reps with the first team. His turnovers were often his youth and overconfidence in my opinion, two things that can be addressed with experience and coaching. But it is all hopes right now that is true.

Crazy that he is OSU's highest rated recruit ever, and they've had some pretty high rated players sign. I'm wondering what the "scouts" from recruiting sites seen in him.

Can't forget Dorsey. I know he played with an absolute stacked team but he didn't waste that opportunity becoming one of if not thee most prolific QB in Miami history.

"Not only was Ken Dorsey the No. 1 quarterback in Hurricanes history, he will go down as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play college football.

Dorsey didn't have the greatest arm in the country and wasn't the most accurate, but he was the total package. He was a field general that was in total control in each and every game he played in.

Dorsey ended his career No. 1 in almost every single Hurricane passing category. He finished his career completing 668 out of 1,153 passes (both, second in school history) for 9,565 yards (first), 86 touchdowns (first) and 28 interceptions.

Although he never broke 30 touchdowns in a single season, he is the only Hurricane quarterback to have three straight seasons of 20 or more touchdown passes.

He won multiple awards throughout his career including the Maxwell Award which is given to the best collegiate player in the country.

Dorsey finished up at Miami with the most wins as a starting quarterback going 38-2 as a starter. He also led the 2001 Hurricanes to the national championship in which they easily defeated Nebraska 37-14."

We can just get 11 edge rushers and make a scrum every play keep pushing to the other goal line

Wasn’t Blaine Gabbert pretty damn good in College though?
