Literally 1 out of 1,000,000 elite football recruits care about academics. And when they do, they don’t go to UF, no matter how good UFs academic rating is. They go to Stanford and we never hear their names again in reference to football, just how it is.

Kinda my point. I hope they are going at it 100%. There’s no other way to play a game. I’m not so sure of public perceptions is why I mentioned players. Perception can be almost as important as reality. Is Napier competing with one hand tied behind his back is a legitimate question. I have no doubt he’s giving 100% effort with whatever resources he may or may not have. To me, there’s more speculation than facts out there but there no doubt in my mind there always was cheating and it’s just at higher stakes right now. Just my opinion that we aren’t cheating as much as some are.

Myron rolle choosing FSU for their medical program lol. I'll always believe TK Weatherall himself bought Rolle as a publicity stunt for their then new medical school.

This is the first logical explanation I’ve heard! Everyone just took it on its face like it made any sense. And Rolle was the real deal academically too. (Good player also.)

The main reasons I say that is because there was an article about Rolle back around that time where Weatherall himself was quoted multiple times about Rolle and the whole Oxford thing. How many times does a university president speak on athletes? That coupled with Rolle specifically citing their medical program as a major factor if not THE factor in his commitment which of course was ridiculous. Reaked of publicity stunt to me.

RB Justice Hayes picked Bama today. Everyone assumed as a Georgia legacy he’d be going to Georgia. I actually thought he may surprise and commit to UF. Alas, Bama gets another good one.

maybe we get more involved with Young since he was considered a Bama lean. More likely Bama just gets him too.

“Credit running backs coach Robert Gillespie with the addition of Haynes to the class.”

“Me and Coach Gillespie have a strong relationship,’ he said. “We’ve had a strong relationship ever since my freshman year and it’s carried over. Coach Gillespie, he’s easy to talk to. We talk about anything. We talk all the time.”

Elite RB Justice Haynes commits to Alabama

I know we got a couple guys on staff who were RB coaches of the year but I’d love to bring Gillespie back home to UF.
