If so, they’ve had a monster week with he and Faulk. Heck, great two weeks when you throw in Kearney.
    Thinking we finish 2nd here.

Whatever they’re doing, Georgia continues to kick our butt with another CB for a 5 star tight end. Boy did we drop the ball after the Tebow years. I’m not sure we are ever going to catch up now. The gulf is enormous.

Amazing FSU is closing great OL with only 1 OL coach that is lower paid than our NFL OL coach. Relationships and recruiting skills matter

The coaches weren't recruiting tight ends this cycle.

Bet you're a lot of fun on the boards after a UF loss.

Just curious what the reason behind this is?

“O. There will be no mention of the "Gator (rhymes with reflective)” on Gator Country.”

Ever seems a bit much but everything is cyclical and maybe it’s just our turn to endure years and years of average football much like the likes of Bama, Texas, USC, UGA have gone through. The good news is programs like ours are always just one coach away from shooting back to the top.

So we haven't already been enduring average football the last decade?

We have. But that doesn’t mean the football world owes us a return to dominance. I’m just stating that the previous poster said “forever” and I’m stating not forever but maybe for the foreseeable future. I want BN to succeed but hiring him is risky because he has yet to prove it in the big stage. He could just be another average hire that gets fired in 5-7 years

look at what Tennessee is going through right now. We’re not immune to that and if we make bad coaching hires we will stay average until we hit the right guy.

Tbh, any hire is risky, big name or not. Very few coaches have shown to carry over their great success from one school to another. It's usually a mixed bag of ups and downs. Urban, and Saban off the top of my head are 2 of the few that achieved Great success at one school and went to another school and achieved the same level of success. We'll see if that still holds True this year with guys like B. Kelly and M. Cristobal who have been playoff contenders at their previous stop. They both certainly have an opportunity to carry over their success but its no guarantee, just look no further than Jimbo at A&M. All his recruiting success aside, till now he has basically been average on the field after him being lured away as a title winning coach, one of only about 5 active in the entire college ranks.

To be clear, I was hesitant to include Cristobal in my post but to clarify i said Playoff "contenders" as I believe had he not got beat down the last 2 of 3 weeks of the season by Utah, they would have probably been there or close as he was tanked as high as 3rd in the polls. Also in 2019 he finished 5th overall at 12-2 . Had the playoffs been more than 4 teams he would have been in it.

If that’s the case, then we were playoff “contenders” several of the last few years. At least two of the years under Mullen and one of the years under Mac. If we’d won more games or they let more teams in, we would have made it too.

Right at least the Trask year. And again I was hesitant to add Cristobal bit the point rings true, very few coaches have reached their prior success at a new school. Really interested to see what Lincoln Riley does at USC after being in the playoffs damn near every year.
