I had honestly never heard of Urban Meyer until his last year at Utah when he went 12-0. I've been hearing of Napier for several years now, and, if we hadn't landed him (like other P5 schools tried to do), the narrative would be about the one that got away. We got our first choice and we need to give him a chance to do what we paid him to do. Not sure what's going on has anything to do with Napier's recruiting skills. New world. Agree that many kids only know guys with a head coaching national championship under their belt, but, that ain't Cristobal either.

I'm not expecting great things this year. Just hoping for steady progress in the right direction. Napier definitely has a lot to prove, but, he hasn't been given a chance to do that yet. I'm sick of the coach-replacement cycle that leaves us in rebuilding mode every three years.

Looks like Sorey. Alderman put in a CB yesterday and then pushed it back the next day.

TRUE: We have to remember WHERE we were just 10 months ago.
Remember, we were mired in the mediocrity of losing to Kentucky, South Carolina, Mullin's pressers, etc.
Now we have a coach who has totally revamped Florida's system, assistant coaches, etc, etc.
I know we want quick results.
    I want quick results.
Let's see how July, August and September play out.
I personally feel that we are going to win a lot more games this season than many think.
And when that starts happening, the overall perception of Florida Football will change.

Oregon would consistently out-recruit Utah, no? How'd Super Mario do against the Utes?

Great post. Sometimes many, and I do too, forget where we were just five or six months ago. We were getting beat by UCF by double digits. We all want great recruiting results but product on the field says it all. I’m with you in thinking we will surprise people.
If we can find a way to get by Utah in Kentucky, I would say look out. Billy is a guy that values the rock and I will tell you the first time we get the ball that I would be shocked if he doesn’t impress many in his playcalling and keeping our offense on the field. Utah is about slowing the game down and out smash mouthing them. Kentucky is the same. Don’t get me wrong Richardson will have his shots/chance to go up top two or three times each game and he will have to make the most of those opportunities but more than anything what Billy is trying to teach is about a mindset as we have not been mentally tough the last couple of years.

@bobbybaker86 when are the following committing:

    Wilson
    Mizell
    Searcy
    Webb
    Jean
    Walker
    Hall
    Norman
Anybody popping soon? I’d think July 4 would be a commit day.

research and history show that with regards to our program the longer battles go on with regards to kids not committing the more we lose… K. Wilson was an anomaly.
Missing on Wilson, Webb, or Mizell would be concerning. While I say that I know we need walker, Hall, Norman, Leblanc, etc. etc.

Losing Pup Howard and possibly not recognizing the importance of Robinson at Lake City Columbia are two major red flags and that major comes with a nine or 10 rating.

Not really sure to be honest. No one has really been throwing his name out there as someone to look out for in that June to July window. Then I saw a tweet from Alderman saying a commitment could be imminent and he threw a CB in. Then the next day he announced that he was pushing it back.

It appears we thought things were going to go a little differently. We grabbed two really nice players last class right off the bat and I thought we would continue to do just that. Seems our checks are either not coming until they are on campus or we aren’t paying enough to entice the very top guys. I’m reserving judgement on whatever strategy we might have until I see how this class turns out. Maybe taking 20 4*’s that are ranked 200 or more wouldn’t be a bad strategy. There is a budget and overpaying for a guy like Rashada isn’t in our best interest. A truly elite qb however has to be bought at whatever price. You can’t win often with Stetson Bennet unless you take a bunch of tge top 100 guys every year.
