No dead period for agents and lawyers, just coaches. NCAA is dead, drop the college requirements for NFL

 

Pretty simple: recruits are getting a free ride of earnings from collectives based almost solely on the popularity of the university they will play for. It's almost the equivalent of selling the logo of UF on jackets without paying a licensing fee.

 

Nah, the top talent is getting paid for their talent value. There’s no 2 * guys getting 10 mil for putting a gator on their shirt.

 

Sadly though, no high school player is really worth a dime until they step on a college campus and prove their worth. Then they can go check their value in the transfer portal. NIL was supposed to be making sure players had a way to make money off their likeness via autographs, speaking tour, profit sharing from TV contracts, etc etc so that if the school made money, the player would get some portion as well.

NIL wasn't supposed to make a kids potential value and issue before he even steps on campus, let alone before he even gets on the field and makes a play. The school isn't making a dime off the player until he is in uniform and playing.

 

That’s like saying that no college player has worth in the NFL draft until he proves himself in the NFL

 

He isn't getting collective money from Texas if he plays for UF and vice versa and he doesn't get a big payout from East Tennessee State but will from Florida and that has nothing to do with the player's ability but about the prestige of UF verses ETSU in football. The amount paid among positions or skill level doesn't change that all of them are getting free intellectual property type incentivs to make money without the university being compensated.

 

Dion ‘s school has no prestige but some cash. They aren’t paying the scrubs.
