I mean, I get what he’s saying, but “stop getting your hopes up” is kind of a hilariously apt description of Florida football over the last decade+.

Do we really think Bama has as deep of pockets as some? Maybe that’s why Satan got so pissy. They could afford to cheat with a few million but 30 may be over their head. If so, Bamas run will slow down pretty quickly. They’ve out talented the country for a decade but without the cash, that won’t happen.

The topic is “Twitter Updates”. How can you be off topic on a thread that has no specific topic? And how can failed strategies that impact the well being of Americans ever be off topic or not the subject of Twitter? I can post a hundred tweets about the failure of the infrastructure policies which incidentally trickle down to the collegiate level and sports programs.

Some of you need to learn to think out of the box before assessing the relevancy of others’ comments.

Both Texas schools will be able to seriously outspend Bammer. Nick definitely not happy with that reality. I'd imagine his retirement timeline has been moved up.

I think Billy like Saban are in a wait and see mode what the consequences are for these teams that have been doing this.
    Another thing about these Coaches.
    Kiffen....look at his portal haul
    Jimbo
    Kirby
    Cristobal
    Tucker all worked for Saban.
If it is allowed Saban and Bama will spend the most.

All things being equal, they will play with other good players. Money and winning , probably in tgat order for most.Aaron Rodgers just took the cash and probably sealed his chances of winning another super bowl. Some guys take smaller contracts in order to win but they are a little more rare. Nobody takes a pay cut to play for a team that has no shot.

Certainly not as deep as UT, TAMU, probably USCW. Some of the Big10 schools will be interesting to watch as well.....Mich St is one that actually has deep pockets and might rise quickly.
Arky is one I would think has potential if they pull it together......Tyson, Walton, Jerry Jones type money could move the needle fast.
Bama may not have as many, but they are passionate. That will help

Burrow didn’t look to be as good as he turned out. I loved his pick six at the swamp. One of the more exciting games I’ve been to. When he left osu, I thought of him along the lines of Miller. His second year is when his stock went through the roof. I really didn’t see that coming. But burrow a few games into his last year??? If he was negotiating at that point?? Big difference. How Tebow for his senior year? 10 mil for one season? Probably

Just wonder how many multi million busts will need to happen before schools call for legislation saying kids can't make money on NIL until Sophmore year...

The list of failed 5 star prospects is long and distinguished without them getting money, yet now that a recruit who hasn't played a down of college football will get millions... do they really think the kid will be as motivated if he already has the money? I see a lot of top ranked kids becoming busts in the NIL era simply because they will be out spending their NIL money on cars, girls, drugs, video games, etc rather than busting ass in the gym and studying film.

I didn't realize that . . . but they do seem to be doing well with certain recruits.

Every 5* qb will make several million just in potential. Either pay it or pay more from the portal for proven ones. The ones like Miller won’t cost as much but still have a cost. It would be interesting to see what Miller is being paid. He would have some market value I would think.

Not all that much different than first rounders in the nfl. Many are busts with huge guaranteed contracts . Do nfl owners run away from the top of the draft for fear of signing the next bust? No they hope for tge next Brady locked into only $20 mil for four years. Proven qbs get 50 for just one year. It works tgat way in all sports and college football will be no different. What is the value of a top qb hitting the portal right now? What would Tebow’s senior season be worth to a loaded team with Stetson Bennet as their top qb?

Maybe put it up at the top of the recruiting page as a separate post?

I doubt Bama has the cash that others do. I’m sure there are schools trying to find a way to stop the spending so they can go back to keeping it all but I think it’s way to late for that. Spend or fall behind. Can teams win titles with half a payroll? Sure, it’s happened in baseball but the big payrolls win a lot more. Padres have a shot this year but they could use a couple more bats. Maybe 50-60 million worth, that should do it.

I think it's sad that fans gripes have gotten enough attention for a player to even address it. Unfortunately contrary to the belief that what we say or think doesn't matter isn't true in the age of social media where every know it all fanatic has a national audience.
