Burrow…. Am I missing another? Probably so. It’s probably more so because of how the entire programs are structured as to what wins titles. Trask was definitely good enough for a title but the rest of the roster would have stood no chance with ol Stetson at qb.
We could build an otherwise great roster and save that qb money but those portal qbs are possibly going to cost a lot more than a Rashada.

None of them won shit. That’s what I was saying as how entire programs are structured. The teams that let those guys walk because they have multiple other 5* guys are the teams wining. We could win with Tom Brady last year.

Agree to disagree. They changed their teams for the better given what they had on roster.

Sure they got better but they couldn’t overcome the top teams because they are not the top teams. Ohio State almost got there with Fields

I guess my point is show me a consistent playoff team that doesn’t take a top-five quarterback every year

Tons of posts in recent threads that now it is all about the $ even more than ever. If that is the case, should be the same for qbs and every position. So, a top flight rb should be just as likely to take the best offer of $ out of high school regardless if that means he is playing with a qb he’s never heard of. Kids at any position aren’t going to say “hey, they got a 5 star qb making 2 million a year. They offered me $50,000 in NIL to play with him. I’m gonna turn down the $1m a year another school offered for a chance to maybe play with a better qb”

owens to Louisville is an example.

Only one team can win the natty. If a qb transfers in and they help get you to the playoffs? To me that is a huge success. While only Burrow won the title, Kyler Murray, Fields, mayfield, hurts. That is 5 qbs in a relatively short time period who transferred and made the playoff. Probably more to come.

The last two weeks across this board, other boards and twitter, the UF fan base as represented on boards and socials has been absolutely berserk and WAY outta line, FULL STOP.

The kids and their parents see all of this. Especially when keyboard tough guys start tweeting directly AT recruits and their families

Unless the cost of getting Rashada emptied the tank. There's a reason really good QB's often opt to take less to afford good talent around them

A 4* star high school QB with a 57% completion is NOT worth $5 mil per year, not even for 4 full years...

Yep, and any University that pays that 4* star QB kid $5 mil to play QB for them deserves the SUCKER OF THE YEAR award for stupidity...

I'll make it a little easier. Show me a consistent playoff team that doesn't take a top 10 QB each year.

How much would those guys be worth in the current market?
