Great choices for a lot of reasons, not least of which is the high schools they went to.

That is not why he isn’t coming. He loved his visit to Miami and stated he may not need to go anywhere else.

we are also still talking to the #1 TE in the class. He ain’t coming here but we didn’t tell Mikeska not to bother. It is actually the opposite. He is no longer interested and will decide between Oklahoma and Miami and his pick will be Miami.

You know at this point I don’t think it’s unfair for me to pull my money away from any merchandise, tickets or collectives until I start seeing some actual results because right now it’s more of the same if not worse and my hard earned money can go towards other things.

Oh no, the loss of your contributions will bring this program to it’s knees.

So we’re not allowed to be unhappy with the way things are going right now?

So you’re fine with the continuous mediocre recruiting?

It was mediocre before the staff got here, and there is no way it would be any better under the previous staff.

I let the coaches and the folks with money do their thing, and don’t really let it affect my day one way or another. I follow recruiting because it’s interesting to me and something to do, but I don’t get too high or too low about it. This staff hasn’t even played a game yet, and they seem to be working hard. Definitely not ready to stomp around throwing tantrums just yet. I don’t know how much of it is their fault anymore anyway with the nil stuff.

If you want to start brokering million dollar deals and getting the best of the best, by all means, have at it. Go get em yourself, screw what the administration says about it. If you don’t have the means to get that done, then I don’t see the point in staying all worked up about it. If you don’t have the means to get it done yourself, nobody cares what you have to say about it anyway. Not me, not the collectives, not the coaches, not the administration. You’re gonna give yourself an aneurysm, and nobody will care about that either.

I think where his frustration lies is he is donating money to the collective and while other schools keep reeling in top talent, often times due to the NIL those schools offered and or provided, UF is not getting any highly rated recruits. More and more of our top targets are coming off the board, so the poster probably imagines his and other money donated to the collective just sitting in a pile of cash and earning a little interest and not being used in any successful way to get top recruits to UF. He could have set his gator collective contribution on fire instead of donating it and recruiting would not have changed.

That’s kinda my point. Most of the people donating to the collective aren’t donating enough to make a difference. If it makes you feel good, have at it, but it doesn’t entitle you to anything, and you will see no direct roi. If you’re gonna get all worked up about it and want detailed reports on what’s happening with the money, it’s probably not the game for you. You are personally just as well off setting your money on fire.

The collective has got some things done that I’m happy with. Keeping Castleton and Reeves on the bball team was pretty big. I’m happy that people give them money. I laugh at the people constantly in a tissy about it though and how they love to claim they’re doing their part as if they’re owed something for their minuscule (in the grand scheme of things) donations.

I'm actually tired of hearing that from players who visited UF, then sign somewhere else.
Just be honest and say what you really think.

the way UF is orchestrating NIL it does do a good job of keeping key players happy and maybe from some players from transferring or going pro. That is a good thing. But NIL is not being utilized at UF like some others are doing (‘illegal’ inducements for recruits) and that is perpetuating UFs talent disadvantage to the Bamas and Georgias of the world and may also lead to more talent going to other rivals as well (Miami, Tennessee, etc).

in this sense, UF ends up being similar to the tampa bay rays of the world or Miami marlins but with a main difference. The marlins and gators both will have to work extra hard to identify and develop talent. Once on the team, if a player balls out, while the Marlins will usually lose a free agent to a franchise that will pay them a ton, UF will be able to use NIL to keep them. But the starting pool of players at Georgia will start as more talented than UF (going by stars and recruiting rankings- a different argument if stars matter) and so we will be at a continual disadvantage - one that existed before NiL.

Do you get mad at fans who boo when the team stinks/fans are super unhappy with on field performance? People pay alot of money for tickets and hotels and such…when they are unhappy with the product they have the right to boo.

same with NIL. If thousands of fans give money and we don’t see any recruiting results, it is fair to be bummed and question what are they giving the money for? We don’t have to have then#1 class but like any “business”, if you pay for something and are not satisfied, you can complain about it. At least I think so.

Booing your own team is dumb. I don’t get mad about it, but it’s dumb.

You can whine, be unhappy, and complain all you want, and I can tell you that nobody that matters cares. The folks that move enough money around to be felt, aren’t hanging out on these forums bragging about it or whining about where it’s ending up. If you’re not happy with what you’re getting for your money, then by all means, stop giving it away. Sitting around whining about it with a bunch of other folks that also don’t move the needle isn’t going to change anything though.
