    They kept them there all this time already. Sure there is more money going around above board but no one ever hoarded talent like Bama did and now Georgia and others. Not even fsu and Miami stacked talent in the glory days the way Bama did. They had a method I'm sure

    I was born in Jacksonville in 1956 and lived there until I went to UF and everyone I knew growing up called them sandspurs. I lived in Naples for a while after I graduated and a rock and roll bar I used to go to sold t shirts that said "Damn Yankees and Sandspurs!".

    The other thing everybody’s talking about is sandspurs. I grew up in Florida and never heard anybody call them anything else. They’re awful, and all my dogs over the years thought so too.

    Agree with those calling them sandspurs. I grew up on the beach in New Smyrna (born in 1947)and that’s what we called them. In fact, we used to have sandspur wars where we would throw them at each other. It paid to be faster than the rest. It was very hard to grow grass in beach sand.
