Lake Gibson’s head coach just finished his first year there. The year prior he was on Napier’s staff at Louisiana as quality control analyst. Lake Gibson typically stacked w talent including 2023 5 star Cormani McClain. The HC is very young, comes from a football family, and has deep ties to the area so should be there a while. I really feel I earned an “informative” on this post.

Does anyone notice that the video is actually focused on Kelly? It goes into slow mode when he does the Batman thing with his eyes and the player is out of frame. gotta wonder if Kelly is tossing these into detachable hard drive for some late night “film watching” sessions.

Only thing I can figure is he's trying to be crazier than previous LSU coaches. But looks faker than the southern accent speech. Hopefully his fakeness won't play well with recruits.

I do find the tensions between the recruiting persona and the coaching persona to be quite interesting. I mean, these kids come in seeing their head coach as their dancing buddy who does sleepovers and plays video games with them. Then fall camp starts, and that person must instantly be a totally different dude, often acting more like a drill sergeant.

I don’t blame the coaches for this, as it appears to be a rather necessary element of todays game to remain competitive. Billy seems like he tries keep those two personas more closely aligned, in his “honest” approach. Hopefully that does result in less buyers remorse for the players as they move through the program.

 

First Louisiana had the Ragin Cajuns and now they have the Rainbow Cajuns. I cant wait to see it when Kelly changes the team colors to the ROYGBIV rainbow.

 

Agree, that "transition" can't be so large that it impacts things in the future.

 

Its going to be so easy to negatively recruit LSU from now on. Lets see how it works.
