One thing that is not mentioned about our late season turnaround is the fact that by that stage we were playing with our third options in the secondary because of injuries.

 

I always thought it was more likely Smart using Beck to try to blow up the UF-AR relationship by pretending interest in UF.

 

We were down to our 3rd or 4th string options at cb, so that is the kind of prevent defense you play in those circumstances. We locked down inside the 30 because we had the DL to do that. I wouldn't call it epic as much as they chose foolishly to keep pressing the 4th down button.

 

He wasn’t, but even if he were, are we calling kids that committed for a few weeks former gators now?

 

I mean they outgained us by a lot but with 7:40 left in the 4th we were leading 24-17 and each team had 1 turnover. All I'm saying is I wouldn't bucket it into lighting our ass up and all we did is make some big plays. We had an injured true freshman QB and were going against the #2 passing offense in the country, and we were still up at that point.

I will say we need to figure out a way to get some yards on our last two drives. Being so conservative put it all on our defense to make plays.

 

I was just trying to help stretch the other guys argument.

 

Agree. That's why I said he suck even when UF was recruiting him from Mandarin. AR was 10x better than precious.
