Texas favored by 7.5 at the Big House. The only other top 25 matchup this weekend is #14 Tennessee at #24 NC State with Tenn favored by 8. I’ll be rooting for the underdog in both.
I like Texas and will be rooting for them because of Sark. I love watching excellent coaching - in particular on offense. I realize there are many who just want to see the underdog win - or will always root against our rivals. But I try to take a different approach. As for Tennessee......I really love their QB Nico! Fun to watch play. Also give him a lot of respect for sticking with Tennessee last year and waiting for Milton to finish out. That's the way to do it....and it really does pay off, as we are seeing!
More on Nico...... Iamaleava served as the backup quarterback to Joe Milton during the 2023 regular season before being named Tennessee's starting quarterback for the Citrus Bowl, played in January. In his first career start during the Citrus Bowl, Iamaleava threw for 151 yards and recorded four total touchdowns, one passing and three rushing, leading Tennessee to a 35–0 victory over Iowa. For his performance, he was named Citrus Bowl MVP. And: https://collegefootballnews.com/new...can-lead-program-to-college-football-playoffs
I like Sark too, very impressed with what he’s done there. I’m going to throw up in my mouth a bit on this next comment, but I enjoy watching Heupel’s UToothless offense (cringe, barf, shudder, more barf). I used to root for SEC teams almost always (except TN and GA of course) but I’m taking a different tack now. It’s been demoralizing watching the Butt Sniffers lap us while they climb the mountain, and I don’t want TN having any chance of doing the same. I hope both lose every game they play. Same for Bama and LSU. Throw Kentucky, Mizzou, and Tx AM in there, too. With TX I like Sark but Longhorn fans are already a bunch of strutting peacocks. I will root for them vs. GA, but their fans will be insufferable if they win the SEC their first year in the conference.
I have cable and also an Amazon fire box (not stick) to stream w/subscriptions to ESPN+, Netflix, and Peacock. The only one I am re-considering is Netflix. As an Amazon Prime member I also get Prime on streaming. Mostly because the rate keeps going up and am some point - on principle - I say enough is enough! A lot of folks have gone the YT TV route and are happy with it. All of this stuff should be free as for as I'm concerned......but no one cares what I think...lol.....
FYI.....I have no plans to do any game threads for tonight, but if there's one someone wants just let me know. ESPN isn't even going to air any games. Just one on ESPN2 that's probably not worthy of a thread - thanks!
