LOL ... LOL ... I was specifically referring to mikemc and his buddies ... after he acknowledged his obsession with the "Jan 6th insurrection", discussing it over dinner. I quote:

My friends and I were just laughing at dinner over this Jan 6th idiot who got a heavier sentence because he chose to spout off a bunch of conspiracy theories to the judge instead of just saying he was sorry. You might like the last quoted paragraph where jury and judge weren't buying the entrapment excuse."

And realize, I came into this discussion after many had been responding to the OP denigrating the OP and Tucker Carlson. My initial points were and still are:

#1 - In response to your query "what would you call the Jan. 6 attempt to stop certification of the election and keep Trump in office?" .... I responded "A pretty rowdy demonstration with some inexcusable, criminal behavior by the people who did not enter the capital. Regarding those that entered the capital, some really stupid mayhem and criminal behavior by some really stupid people." - see post #325.

#2 - "If the left can get you to call a BLM/antifa riot a “peaceful demonstration” …. and a right-winger riot an “insurrection, revolt, rebellion, revolution, or coup” …… they know they will get you to say and/or believe anything regardless of the meaningless mindlessness thereof.
However, what is a bit problematic to harshly criticize some that were in the capital, as it appears they were allowed to enter the capital and were escorted around the building by police. That seems to fly in the face of any characterization akin to a “violent insurrection”." - see post #310.

I still stand by both statements .... and that many on the left have an obsession with the "Jan 6th non-insurrection". You seem to have one, too, as you are pretty active in this thread.

Those people were at the Capitol, and entered the building, in an effort to keep Donald Trump in power even though he lost a fair election.

Nobody has ever been able to explain why Jan 6 was an insurrection and May 30 wasn't? I mean if the peaceful protesters had broken through the last of the barricades and police lines what were they going to do once they got into the White House, have tea with Melania? There was more violence in the first 10 minutes that night than there was in all of Jan 6.
