He deserves way worse, and the sad part is the man he replaced was about as good a politician as I’ve known. Freaking Alabama.

No human being deserves us wishing for physical harm. Not Biden. Not Tubberville.

Politics has turned us into really bad humans.

Me and you clearly disagree on abortion, but in my eyes politicians like him are causing physical and mental harm on women across the country plus whatever harm he’s causing with his military promotion holdout. We aren’t talking harmless issues here. He’s a football coach, he can handle a slip down some stairs.

We do disagree. And I find abortion to be an abhorrent situation in many cases. Doesn't mean I celebrate when Biden trips on stairs.

But i know, I know... Tolerance.

I prefer to think of it as karma for 2006 and 2007.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/12/05/tuberville-lifts-military-promotions-hold/

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) announced Tuesday that he would lift his blanket hold on military promotions, ending a nearly 10-month standoff over a Biden administration abortion policy that made the former football coach the target of bipartisan ire.

“It’s been a long fight, we fought hard,” Tuberville said after announcing his decision to his colleagues at a closed-door lunch. “We just released them.”

I guess being caught as a Florida resident was enough to embarrass him into relenting.

I think it was 4th and 31 that told him that karma was against him.

How many times, almost always Republicans, have we seen one or a small group take some stand for some epic but obscure irrelevant and unobtainable goal and then they just give up and it’s like nothing happened and everybody goes on their way?

Definitely shades of Ted Cruz shutting down the government. I suppose they correctly understand that vibes based politics is what we have in this country.

This was exactly what I was thinking of. He was threatening to shut down the government, or default on the debt, I forget which one, in order to repeal the Obamacare individual mandate. It was completely disproportionate.

Years later the mandate was repealed by legislation and afterwards nothing really happened.

Nobody should be blocked, but at least the Senate can confirm those people 1 by 1 within a few days.

There isn't anyone higher than a 4*, I don't think the US has had a 5* general since Eisenhower.

LOL! I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone who starts a thread being accused of being off-topic, but I’m not at all surprised at who did.

It’s much more important in Alabama to be pro life.
