Trump committed political suicide this week and I’m surprised it’s not getting more attention. This AM he called for the termination of the US constitution. It is fun seeing this vile man come to his ruin. It seemingly took forever but the walls are collapsing. For him the worst is yet to come. Trump commits political suicide
Democrats up in arms about messing with the Constitution! Next they’re going to press for anti-blasphemy laws.
Even if Trump has committed political suicide and I think it's way too early to begin dancing on his political grave. Should he lose the Republican presidential nomination he will not go gently into that goodnight and will end up bringing the Republican Party down with him. If DeSantis or some other candidate ends up with the nomination the chances are virtually nil that Trump will endorse him. The Donald will once again claim that he was the victim of voter fraud and rather than switch allegiance and vote for the party's nominee enough of his supporters will buy into the BS and vote for him if he runs as a third party candidate or if he doesn't run simply stay home or vote for another third party candidate swinging the election to the Democratic nominee.
In my view trump committed political suicide weekly for the duration of his campaign and administration. It only won him more votes from people who just don’t care that their guy brags about sexual assaults he commits, mockery of a POW, mockery of a disabled person, attacks on our allies, support for our adversaries, telling US congresswomen to go back to their country, no more immigration from shithole countries, etc, etc, etc. His uncanny accuracy when shooting for the lowest common denominator was successful. For a while.
The Democrats are determined to destroy Trump. They’ll never forgive him for destroying the hopes of Pantsuit Nation.
The Democrats don't have to destroy Trump; he's doing a rather good job of destroying himself and in the process taking the Republican Party down with him.
Trump campaigned on destroying the constitution in 2016 and has never stopped that mission. I guess this is the first time he’s outright stated it.
He helped make the case for prosecuting him for the insurrection stronger. He also aided the case for forbidding him to run again under the 14th amendment.
Trump Organization found guilty on all 17 charges. This is civil not criminal. Trump Organization found guilty on multiple counts of criminal tax fraud A Manhattan jury has found two Trump Organization companies guilty on multiple charges of criminal tax fraud and falsifying business records connected to a 15-year scheme to defraud tax authorities by failing to report and pay taxes on compensation for top executives. The Trump Corp. and Trump Payroll Corp. were found guilty on all charges they faced. He is also facing a $250 million civil lawsuit from the New York attorney general alleging he and his adult children were involved in a decade long fraud. The attorney general is seeking to permanently bar them from serving as an officer or director of a company in New York state, among other penalties.
I just read that the org may be fined up to $1.6M in connection with the verdict? Don't want to undermine the jury's findings, but I guess I assumed there were bigger amounts at stake.
Getting the guilty verdict against the Trump Corporations is just step one. Much easier now to get guilty verdicts against Trump and his kids in the upcoming civil suits, that seek much greater damages.
This is just a small chunk of the overall fraud, I think. This case involves the Weisselberg stuff while the other case is for something like $200 million and is across the company. My interpretation is that this is basically the low hanging fruit to try to get the CFO's cooperation.
The money is a superficial thing. This will basically shut down those orgs for one, and further dull the shine around Trump being untouchable. Won’t be the last time we hear the word guilty in regards to trump.
Yeah, that article I cited mentioned $250 million- so that’s what it was referring to - wasn’t sure. Interesting times for Mr trump.
just another log on the fire. Developer made two contributions to DT superpac. One soon after dept of interior made decision that benefitted him and one after his request for a pardon for two people who were convicted for illegal hunting and setting fires on public lands, whom DT promptly pardoned Alleged Bribery Scheme Could Be the Nail in the Coffin for Trump (msn.com) U.S. House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Raul Grijalva and Representative Katie Porter allege that real estate developer Mike Ingram secured pardons for Dwight and Steve Hammond, who were convicted in 2012 for setting public fires on public land they leased and illegally killing deer on that land. Ingram, coincidentally, was already familiar with the Natural Resource Committee, as he was the subject of its first criminal referral for another alleged bribery case. Grijalva and Porter have accused Ingram of making a $10,000 donation to America First Action, Inc. Super PAC in an attempt to get the Hammonds pardoned. ..................................... Ingram wrote a letter to a Trump Interior Department official with attached articles arguing on the Hammond’s behalf. A Republican lawmaker tweeted on July 1, 2018, that Trump was giving the pardon serious consideration. Just one day later, Ingram sent in his donation to the Super PAC, and the following week, the Hammonds were pardoned. ............................. “Mr. Ingram made only one other $10,000 donation during the 2017-2018 nonpresidential election cycle. That donation was the subject of the committee’s criminal referral regarding the Villages at Vigneto development [in Arizona]. In that case, Ingram and 12 other individuals, many of whom maintained personal or professional relationships with Ingram, donated nearly a quarter of a million dollars to the Trump Victory Fund and the Republican National Committee on the same day or within just a few days that a major federal action regarding Vigneto was made in Ingram’s favor.” They continued, “The parallels between the Vigneto case and the Hammonds’ pardons raise significant concerns about another potential case of bribery under the Trump administration and warrant further investigation.” Porter also said that she and Grijalva uncovered the scheme while investigating a different case. They were looking into an alleged $240,000 “quid pro quo” deal between the Trump administration and a real estate developer.
