So he can’t claim he relied on any legal advice from her at least.

We will never know the extent of damage down by djt. Disturbing to think of the lives that might have been lost because djt couldn't keep his mouth shut. One wonders how much he told his hero Putin and Xi trying to impresse them.

I think that impressing powerful people was more important to him than the profit. And he is likely the most corrupt potus ever.

Trump may be disqualified from the Colorado ballot on 14th amendment grounds. Normally, I would prefer to let the voters decide but I’m willing to make an exception in his case.

Lawsuit to block Trump from Colorado 2024 ballot survives more legal challenges | CNN Politics

The flurry of rulings late Friday from Colorado District Judge Sarah Wallace are a blow to Trump, who faces candidacy challenges in multiple states stemming from his role in the January 6, 2021, insurrection. He still has a pending motion to throw out the Colorado lawsuit, but the case now appears on track for an unprecedented trial this month.

other than giving the NFT salesman something else to cry about, it is not relevant. He can't win CO. i guess it could affect other state rulings (?)

I'd think any state this passes is one he clearly wouldn't win anyway.

Nor would she be able to claim attorney-client privilege for not testifying.

the key point is that she was at the infamous overthrow planning meeting and was a direct witness.

The attorney client privilege applies if Trump consulted with her about the possibility of forming an attorney client relationship and revealed confidential information to her.

assuming there were different rulings in different states, would this go to the USSC? Should the judges he appointed have to recuse themselves?

even if the communication was in furtherance of a crime/conspiracy? If they were discussing committing a crime and plotted together to further that conspiracy, that doesn't sound like an attorney - client, it sounds like a criminal - criminal.

I'm seeing that the Powell outburst by Trump is less about 1/6 and more about the quid pro quo pardon of Michael Flynn.

While I think you raise a fair point generally (and I'm putting aside the crime/fraud exception to privilege for the sake of discussion), I'm not sure how much if anything what prosecutors want to get out of Powell will involve any communications which were arguably privileged. Let's take the December 18, 2020 meeting in the White House, for example, in which there was reportedly a group of people there, including aides and non lawyers, arguing about different theories and strategies. Anything Trump said or acknowledged in that meeting should be fair game IMO.

Was the reciprocity from Flynn that he just kept his mouth shut or was it something more. Honestly, there was so much blatant corruption and self-dealing in that administration I forget where one ends and another picks up.

    OT - Sort of

apparently DT declassified the steele dossier information his last day of office. The declassification of that information exposed Steele's russian sources, two of which mysteriously disappeared shortly after the info was declassified. This has came out in the current slander trial where DT is suing Steele.

Yet another instance of DT using intelligence information to advance his own goals regardless of the cost to the intel community, or maybe on purpose to out witnesses whom would then be taken care of. exposure of those sources, and their related disappearance, made it much harder for us intel to recruit in Russia.

kompromat, a known russian business/politcal tool, and I'm sure that DT was offered his choice of debauchery, but we know an outstanding man like DT would have said no...lol at people that believe that. at what point will the magas realize they became a tool for Putin? when they are all gone and history books are written?

Gone Without a Trace – Trump’s Russian Informants Mysteriously Vanish! (msn.com)

In a witness statement released recently, Steele described the publication of his classified testimony to the Mueller investigation as an “egregious and reckless act” that served no purpose beyond exposing his company, Orbis, its sources, and its methods. Trump, who is now suing Orbis Business Intelligence in England over the dossier, argues that its claims of “perverted sexual behavior” and bribery to Russian officials for business interests were false and damaging to his reputation.

Steele’s witness statement reveals that the decision to declassify his testimony, which was made on Trump’s last day in office, had grave consequences.
According to Steele, the exposure of his Russian sources resulted in “varying consequences,” with two of them vanishing without a trace. This incident not only jeopardized the safety of these sources but also severely impaired the US government’s Russian operations and its ability to recruit new informants.

I know the lawsuit is to prevent Trump from holding office by keeping him off the ballot list. But is it for the presidential race or does it include primaries as well. if primaries, then it does become a bigger issue for trump.

He may have a commanding lead in the Republican primary, but losing too many votes in states could impact who wins the Republican primary. Assuming primaries would be impacted.
