Trump's Troubles

Jack Smith's latest "brief" indictment against Trump for his actions for Jan 6 was just dropped and unsealed. Haven't read through it yet, but it argues that Trump was acting as a candidate, not as an office holder. And Pence was acting in his legislative duties not his exec duties on Jan 6, so Trump has no immunity regarding conversations with Pence.

Team Trump has two weeks to respond, but Judge Chutkan was directed by the SCOTUS to make an immunity decisions based on facts. It looks like Smith gave her plenty to mull over.

 

How can anyone still support this slime for president? It’s all about him. He would sell his supporters for a nickle.

It takes a very special kind of bottom feeder to take a shot at someone whose wife just died and is in Hospice care on their 100th birthday. I have more respect for some of the stuff I've had to scrape off the bottom of my athletic shoes.

 

Ok, this is exactly what I was hoping would happen. I did a quick scan just to see what was redacted. It looks like only names of co-conspirators are redacted, which means the actual actions should be in there.

The redactions are a bit of a joke. Just names are redacted with an ID applied, but often giving the persons role and or some other fact so that you can figure out who they are.

I've only made it about 25 pages in, but this quote, regarding trying to overturn the election in GA, caught my attention:

I think this deserves it's own thread but here are some key quotes:

When Pence tried to convince Trump to give up because they lost, Trump's response: People are going to hate your guts. You're too honest.

When WH officials rushed in to tell Trump Pence was hiding underneath the Capitol, Trump's response was, "So what?"

MAGA will call this election interference but they have no one to blame except for the Supreme Court for stalling. All of the stuff would have come out months ago

Anyway this info should of been released ages ago, but delay delay delay is the name of the game for our judicial system.

 

Keep in mind as JoJo the idiot boy devolves over this that all the witnesses against him are republicans he hired.

 

He can thank SCOTUS's foot dragging on the immunity ruling for the timing of this.

Fox News host: Trump ‘resorted to crimes’ to hold on to power

Fox News host Neil Cavuto said Wednesday that a newly unsealed filing in the federal Jan. 6 case revealed former President Trump “resorted to crimes” to stay in office.

“It was in this newly unsealed court paper we’re learning that former President Trump resorted to crimes to cling to power after the 2020 election. We don’t know much more than that,” Cavuto said Wednesday on Fox News.

“A lot of this stuff was going to be coming out anyway. We’re going to be getting the latest on that, and a legal look at what is being revealed here and whether it’s giving us any new information, anything we don’t know. The timing of this, of course, is little more than about five weeks before the general election,” he added.

Prosecutors in the former president’s Jan. 6 case outlined their case against Trump in a newly unsealed court document on Wednesday, where special counsel Jack Smith argues that Trump’s offenses alleged in the case were private actions, not officials ones.
