Trump is giving the nation a masters-level class. The subject? Money laundering. Trump is very careful to make sure it is (barely) legal, even if it is completely unethical. You really have to question people who are so stupid that they would send money to an unethical billionaire running for office who is laundering it to advance his own business interests. Whatever message he has to get out, the financial performance of his businesses is more important. Sounds very presidential . . .

Trump is funneling campaign money into cash-strapped businesses. Experts say it looks bad.

the laws need to be changed. at one point, americans believed that no potus could be so morally bankrupt to accept large payments to his personal business from our adversaries for no show conferences and no show hotel rooms or to help support the stock price of his company. sadly, djt never has and never will have any ethical or moral compass that we would normally expect our potus to have

Got a kick out of “low energy” tRump dejectedly thumbing through MAGA echo chamber articles about how unfair this trial is and whining about the cold. Apparently he ran out of cash for paid actors to chant “four more years” on some rando street theater performance and just shuffled off to Trump Tower.

No worries a little adderal and Sudafed, and he’ll be rage posting at 2AM again.

BTW for those who may have snorted adderall, doesn’t that mess with your nasal cavity? Would explain his constant sniffling. I remember back in the the the coke I hovered had some very undesirable impacts on the schnozz.

I don’t like AOC at all, but an awfully cogent answer here.

Whatever someone thinks of her politics, she is not stupid... in fact she appears rather intelligent.

I agree 100% with what she is saying here too.

Ironic that a man named Pecker leading the National Enquirere may end up being the strongest witness to directly tie Trump to the plan to kill and capture to help djt get elected. He was in the room with Trump crafting the plan. And the prosecutor is going to lead with him. Interesting days ahead. Even if jury ignores Cohen, this Pecker would seem to be big trouble for Trump as this makes the misdemeanor tax evasion the felonious crime

Why Donald Trump trial's first witness could destroy his defense

lawyers might want to check on their A/R. I see an epic stiff job coming. I think djt may set a record for most money one person ever generated in legal fees. the superpac clawed back major contributions to the campaign and those have now run out and the pac has no more clawbacks it can do.

I guess they can get their advertising goals to the Russians and chinese and count on them for actual political advertising

Trump's Super PAC Has Been Footing His Legal Bills. Now It's Running Out of Money. (msn.com)

According to the latest campaign finance records, the Save America leadership PAC spent $4.6 million on legal bills for Trump and his associates in March while only bringing in $5 million last month. Trump's spending on legal bills amounted to a quarter of the total expenditures by his political action committees in March, The Washington Post reported.

So far this year, $16.7 million in funds from Trump's PACs have gone toward legal bills. At the end of last month, the PACs owed another $900,000 to legal firms. In total, Trump has expended approximately $86 million total in legal fees, according to The Post.

The former president has helped fund Save America PAC - and therefore his legal bills - by refunding money to it from Make America Great Again Inc., another Trump-affiliated super PAC. But those refunds are limited by the amount Save America gave MAGA, Inc. during the 2022 election cycle.

So far this presidential campaign, President Joe Biden and the Democrats have far outpaced the amount of funds raised by Trump and the Republicans, even though the Republican National Committee reported its best fundraising month in March, bringing in $20 million. But the RNC already spent half of that money last month, leaving the party with only $21 million cash on hand. That's less than half of the $45 million reported to be in the Democratic National Committee's coffers at the end of March.

Money laundering has been his primary business model for over a decade, primarily for Russian money and even the Iranian Republican Guard

Preliminary agreement reached on the bond issue. The "surety" must be given exclusive control of the collateral, which must be kept in cash. That would moot the challenge. Of course, knowing the defendant's almost uniform fraud, I'm sure the NY AG will check the language of the actual agreements once reduced to detailed writing

    Pecker gives it to Trump?
    Trump not happy with Pecker?
Trump thinks Pecker did him wrong?

I don't know how to characterize it (sad? stupid? embarrassing?) but all the commentators covering the trial today on CNN are simply calling him "David." The only way to keep straight faces, I guess.
