This graphic says it all although perhaps Trump's tenure as CEO of his company couldn't really be described as a failure as far as Trump himself was concerned since he paid himself an estimated $40 to $80 million in total compensation while running the company into the ground and shafting its shareholders and creditors.

As is his real estate empire. People dismissed it but Jr spoke the truth when he said they didn't ahve to worry about financing, they had russian support. They told us something very similar for a large project in the Caribbean. Someone should do a deep dive into how many of his units, especially the penthouses, were purchased by foreign companies.

no, the bond companies will do their own valuations and then discount it down to a firesale price that it could be disposed of in short order. Interests in building partnerships or building ownership, NY penthouse, etc would likely be his primary assets to be collateralized but I just play on the edge of that game. Maybe MaraLago but it would be hard to value as a property restricted to a club.

Yes, the $8 million @ajoseph was referring to is the bonding company's non-refundable fee they will collect for writing the bond. They will still insist on holding full collateral to cover the entire amount of the judgment (possibly plus interest) in case Trump loses his appeal. Trump can avoid that fee by posting the full amount in cash. I believe he posted cash for the first trial's appeal.

Anything that wasn't properly preserved for appeal during the trial is waived. He could still appeal on the basis the judgment is excessive and the denial of any of his pretrial motions.

Now is a great time to support her. It forces Trump to spend time, energy and money campaigning against her. She and her supporters can provide more material to be used against him. By keeping the pressure on him he is more likely to say and do stupid stuff. That stress will add to his already declining mental health. Don't give him a chance to catch his breath.

That is why I'm really hoping she goes hard this next month.

And I'm hoping Trump gets ugly with her (as he does everyone) and turns off even more or her supporters.

Set Trump was disparaging E Jean Carroll on Twitter earlier today. So is he going for the trifecta? Can she sue him again? What a moron

ruh roh raggy. had massive debt written off, should have claimed it as income, presto, whammo, it became a loan.....hmmmm..not legal

Special monitor suggests Trump falsified disclosures over $48 million loan in what could be tax evasion, report says (msn.com)

The $48 million central to this issue has been scrutinized before. In 2016, the then-candidate for president told The New York Times that he purchased an outstanding loan from several banks he owed money to and, instead of retiring it, chose to keep the debt outstanding and pay interest on it to himself. However, in 2019, Mother Jones reported a significant portion of Trump's debt was forgiven by the hedge fund he owed money to after he paid about half of it.

So, instead of paying income taxes of up to 39% on the forgiven debt, the outlet reported, Trump "invented a loan — and then parked it." Debt parking is the process of purchasing debt using a corporation to avoid paying income taxes on it. The maneuver is legal as long as the borrower intends to repay the loan but is illegal to engage in indefinitely.

Adam Levitin, a Georgetown University law professor specializing in commercial real estate finance, told Mother Jones at the time that the plot was "pretty brazen," adding: "if he didn't actually buy the loan, this is just garden-variety fraud."

"While the reasons behind claiming this fake loan are still unknown, at the very least he misled the government for years about his finances," Jordan Libowitz, communications director at Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, told The Daily Beast. "It appears that Trump knowingly and intentionally broke the law. The only question is how many laws."

I think this is where Trump is going to get his a$$ kicked. This is really a bad look, IMO. He has an independent monitor assigned to make sure everything is Kosher, because he was caught being dishonest, reporting that the dishonesty continues on a very large scale. Really bad for Trump.

Please tell me you are not an attorney. Always so triggered. The tweets by the lunatic EJC show the public how crazy she was and is. She did tell Anderson Cooper rape was sexy and a fantasy. That video is not allowed in court either.

Anderson had to go to break it got so weird. And she still does not know the year she believes she was raped. Sometime in the mid 90's. Now she admits to doing anything to help Biden beat Trump. Carroll says she’ll do anything she can to help Biden beat Trump

Then there is the fact that the judge nor the attorney for EJC disclosed they worked together in the same firm at one time and the judge was considered a "mentor." Everything about this case and trial is unethical.

As others have noted, this last trial wasn’t about the validity of Carroll’s claims, but to go back to those, we should recognize that, while neither you nor I were present, the evidence must have been at least somewhat reasonable to convince all jurors, including at least one that Carroll’s attorneys tried to remove from the jury pool. E. Jean Carroll lawyers tried to exclude juror who listened to "notorious far-right Youtuber," documents show - CBS News

I am also not sure the specific claims here are all that conclusive either. Eg in the video clip, she didn’t actually say that rape was sexy. She said that she thinks most people think it’s sexy. It’s hard to know her point, since the context was cutoff, but I’d like to see the run up to that comment before making any confident judgements.

There is also another way to view her wanting to do anything to help Biden win, other than the cause of her accusations against Trump. What if this is an effect? Imagine that you believed that Gavin Newsom sexually assaulted your wife. Would you want him becoming the next president? Of course not.

Maybe the legal process was tainted here, but I don’t think any of this rises to good evidence for that claim. If there is such evidence, it would be rightly evaluated in an appeal.

If the description is accurate Trump's stunt looks like blatant tax fraud and it was far more egregious than anything Hunter Biden ever did.
