Trump's vision for America: "Republican Senators, if you vote to acquit me after I assassinate my political opponent, I will let you accept as many bribes as you want from any and all sources. I will then issue pardons to all of you." All perfectly legal in Trump's America.
This also goes to show that the complaints of a politically-motivated prosecution by Biden are nothing more than hot air. Trump is arguing in court to allow Biden to have Trump murdered, refuse to leave office, etc. Why would he argue that if he though this was politically motivated? 1. He knows what he did was illegal and absolutely immunity is his best chance of avoiding conviction. 2. He knows Biden has more integrity than to illegally abuse his power for purposes of staying in power.
one of the great failures of our founding fathers was assuming that the senate would do their job as an impartial jury. sadly, I doubt they ever thought that the members of such a prestigious body would be of such low character to ignore evidence to protect their political standing.
Not a real quote. Just demonstrating what's possible if Trump wins in court with his current argument. I figured it was absurd enough so that it wouldn't be confused with something he actually said.
it isn't a direct quote but what is possible under Trump's position that only a conviction by the senate would allow potus to be criminally prosecuted for anything. under his position, potus could murder his staff or his political rivals and unless the senate convicts him he is free of any other criminal prosecution.
Not a real quote just something I posted in quotations in too hot. LMAO these threads can get quit comical at times.
I knew it wasn't a real quote, just wanted to point out how shit is made up and thrown out there in these anti Trump threads.
Care to comment on the Trump team contention that it's ok for a President to assassinate his opponent or sell pardons so long as he doesn't get impeached and convicted in the Senate? This despite his attorneys arguing the exact opposite during his 2nd impeachment trial?
One of the panel's judges asked trump's attorney: “If a president really had absolute immunity — and couldn’t be convicted or prosecuted after they left office — why did Richard Nixon need a pardon after he resigned?” A good question. I don't know what he attempted in the way of a response.
Not sure if the purported audio was published. Would be interesting. Exclusive: Roger Stone Spoke With Cop Pal About Assassinating Eric Swalwell and Jerry Nadler In audio of the conversation obtained exclusively by Mediaite, Stone made threatening comments about the two lawmakers. “It’s time to do it,” Stone told Greco. “Let’s go find Swalwell. It’s time to do it. Then we’ll see how brave the rest of them are. It’s time to do it. It’s either Nadler or Swalwell has to die before the election. They need to get the message. Let’s go find Swalwell and get this over with. I’m just not putting up with this shit anymore.” **** Stone denied making those comments, claiming they were generated by AI. He has previously claimed videos of his comments are actually “deep fakes.” In response to a request for comment on the remarks aimed at Swalwell and Nadler, Stone said, “Total nonsense. I’ve never said anything of the kind more AI manipulation. You asked me to respond to audios that you don’t let me hear and you don’t identify a source for. Absurd.” Greco did not deny the comments, but said in a text to Mediaite: “I don’t think your reader is interested in ancient political fodder.”
If the audio is genuine, claiming that it's actually AI as a defense should be an aggravating factor to increase the sentence.
Thank goodness Trump can only afford idiot lawyers. Even within this stupid impeachment/Senate conviction required argument, they are stating that the president does not have total immunity.
Trump is repeating debunked info that Nimrata Randwaha Haley isn't eligible to be prez or vp due to the timing of her parents' immigration to the US.
nope. he won't touch it because he can't bring himself to admit that it is incorrect. under those terms, Biden could cancel the elections, declare Trump and the maga nation a clear and present danger and Trump and his ilk him locked up in a black site somewhere. Would 2/3 of the senate agree to convict Biden if he did that? Reality is that i believe that the dem senators would have convicted a dem potus of what trump was impeached for but the pub senators would not.
The dem senators would 100% vote to convict Biden in that scenario. As much as Republicans make the dems out to be evil incarnate, they know the dems would do the right thing which is why they're ok with the President having absolute immunity - their side can abuse it but they know the other side won't. It's Supreme Court nominations all over again - you can't confirm someone in the last year of presidency! (unless of course the situation is reversed in which case too bad suckers there's no rule against it).
He succeeded in getting his base of geniuses to believe Obama wasn't born in America, so he figures he can try it with Haley too.
