which foreign bases are you going to empty? which agreement are you going to break to do that? how does that impact military mission preparedness. so many ripples..I could keep going..it is a folish and expensive idea. Want to do something that might help and give fanboy something constructive to do, put Musk in control of creating a digital surveillance network along the border and fund and equip rapid deployment groups stationed at remote locations to quickly respond to any border crossing. a digital wall with a ratpack to secure it. that is the only way to really secure the border

Invest in more Asylum Judges. Something the bill Trump killed would pay for. Allow more immigrants TPP protection so they can work. Allow for a pathway to citizenship for migrants who work here for years and stay out of trouble.

These things would help. And without the coming fallout that will happen if we deport millions working in critical industries like agriculture and construction.

If Trump does go through the mass deportations and so far it appears that he will do so the labor shortages resulting from those deportations will trigger higher inflation than the inflation of 2022 that was responsible for Trump's election in 2024.

I hate the idea of emptying our forward deployed bases around the world. I’d rather just give the military more money and recruit more people to manage it. I also agree that it would obviously require a significant build up of electronic surveillance as well. All in all a huge amount of government spending would be required, in addition to significant investments in technology and human capital. It’s as much a boondoggle as the wall. I’m just sort of pondering what it might look like in a way that’s totally negative.

I like how you totally ignored @OklahomaGator ’s point. Why are they getting more money than our own citizens who have paid into the system??

Maybe we should empty the forward bases and deport the illegals we catch and send them to the forward bases. Free housing.

we have laws in this Country about illegal immigration. the last 4 years they have been pretty much ignored because imnsho the dems are trying to produce an underclass that will always vote for them. I am all for sealing the border and deporting every illegal that we can find. The left counts on selling the point that it is so mean and way to costly to close the border and send the illegals packing.

I’d venture that more than 50% are employed by right wingers, esp in FL where so much economic activity is in construction, agriculture, and tourism. The idea it’s just “the left” protecting them is nonsensical, unless you think the left own all the construction trades and hotels/resorts in Florida.

You obviously bought the “great replacement theory” bs which is purely racist rhetoric not grounded in reality. Hispanics are actually very upwardly mobile, almost at the same rate as whites, and they tend to be religious if not lean right wing. The facts around that don’t line up with your “permanent underclass” theory.
