I would love to hear one person that thinks this is anything but batsh*t crazy. Wonder if Kamala, Biden, Obama, W, Clinton, etc., etc. should also be allowed / should have been allowed. How about Mitt Romney (the most successful business person to run in my lifetime by a wide margin)? Why didn’t any of them suggest this?

Our inflation would rival Zimbabwe’s if Trump was in charge of rates.

“The former president didn’t explain in detail what kind of role he envisions for himself, arguing only that he should have a say in setting interest rates. But he said he is more qualified to make decisions than many Fed officials about monetary policy because of his business experience. “I made a lot of money,” Trump said. “I was very successful and I think I have a better instinct than, in many cases, people that would be on the Federal Reserve or the chairman.””

Arguably he could keep firing Fed chiefs until he gets a SCOTUS level stooge.

Trump went ballistic in 2019, pre Covid, when the Fed tried to normalize rates and got to around 3%. He wanted the 6% GDP number he campaigned on (and never got close to). If Trump had control of interest rates he’d set them back to 0% because (a) he thinks the economy makes him look good as president and (b) it helps him personally as the self proclaimed “king of debt”.

You could add one more to his long list of bankruptcies. The bankruptcy of America itself.

Trump added about 7.8 trillion. Biden is estimated already 7 trillion added to debt mid way through 2024.
Both will attribute Covid. Both parties don’t give a F about our debt. But sure, it’s just Trump

Trump's bankruptcies are just Trump's. I don't think Biden can compete with Trump in bankruptcies. Trump shouldn't be in charge of any damn thing in this country outside of his own criminal organization.

You know what else Biden can’t compete with, billions in net worth.

I’ll take someone who in younger years had BKs but is now worth billions over someone who never built anything and only has millions due to a political career in which his salary was what an avg of 125-400k over his career.

Trump inherited his wealth. And he would be worth more if he'd just invested his inheritance in the stock market.

Doubtful. He won’t even prove all these billions. Wonder why?

Sounds good. Perhaps he could promise lower rates for certain people. Kind of like providing free money (aka, student loan forgiveness) to get some extra votes.

If djt put his inheritance in the S & P he would be worth multiples more. He made hundreds of millions off the BK's. He just took all the $$ out of the businesses for himself and left the creditors with the losses. Never had a personal BK.

Instead he had to use his wealth for things like stiffing contractors, destroying the USFL, and running the Trump University scam. He's such a swell guy and great businessman.

    You have to be trolling.
If Trump put his inheritance into an index fund, he would be substantially wealthier than he is now.
Can't believe anyone thinks he is some sort of business genius, you could spend years in grad school just learning from his failures.
