The best way would to describe my feelings regarding Trump and Meatball Ron DeSanctimonious would be the famous quote from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet "a plague on both your houses". On one hand Trump would do far more damage to the country should he win the general election while on the other hand if DeSantis is the nominee he would have a greater chance of actually winning the election than would the orange one. At this time I would put my money on Trump to win the nomination and lose the popular vote for the third time in a row and much more significantly the electoral college for the second time. He has a cult like following and no one can capitalize on grievances and victimhood like Donald Trump. Although counter-intuitive in a rational world, the likely indictments of Donald Trump would solidify his support and that combined with the way that the Republican Party allocates delegates with winner-take-all and weighted primaries in which a candidate with well under 40 percent of the total vote in a primary could end up with all or most of a state's delegates could give Trump a lock on the nomination. While never counting the Donald out if I had to make a prediction my guess is that in the general election Trump would do as well in the swing states where the election will be decided as the candidates that he backed in the 2022 midterms like Governors Lake in Arizona and Dixon in Michigan as well as Senators Oz, Walker and Laxalt in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Nevada, respectively.

Roger Stone calling out corruption should have finally caused that Internet shutdown him and the rest of the Qnuts are always going on about.

He may get "that" indictment? Written as if there was some possible indictment DeSantis could be facing? I feel like I'm missing some context here. Is there some possible indictment DeSantis could be facing, or am I reading too much into this?

I took it as a reference to his statement recently that Ron should oppose the Trump indictment b/c at some point the feds will come for Ron

I think that the Koch's and their machine have a stalking horse in the background, perhaps the Virgina governor, as they don't like either Des or DT and were clear that they were going to involve themselves in the primaries for the first time ever. Thye have a larger infrastructure in place than either DT or DeS

Even assuming that Meatball Ron DeSanctimonious would run better against Biden than Trump he would still have to win the Republican nomination and as I've said in several other posts and it's counter-intuitive in a rational world, if Trump is indicted MAGA nation will rally around him virtually ensuring that he is the Republican nominee.

What an amazing coincidence. G95 managed to stumble across and post the poll results of the ONLY poll favoring DeSantis. Wow, what are the odds?

I don't think Little D would run better. He has name recognition, but a lot of the country doesn't know very much about him. The more people get to know him, the less they will like him, especially among voters with college and advanced degrees. He is not expanding Trump's base and that base is a lot more fired up about Trump than they are Little D.

If he’s smart he waits to 2028 so he doesn’t have to deal with trump or face an incumbent.

Still way too early and while almost every poll is within the margin of error Trump is outperforming DeSantis in most general election polls. From 538.

Unless something changes, the GOP nomination is Trump's to lose. Question is can the GOP come up with someone who can not only beat Trump, but also win the general election?
