I was told replacing a candidate after the primaries is a coup. :emoji_joy: That was almost 2 months ago and ahead of the dem convention.

‘Fraid it’s far too late now, and even if it were legally possible (the dems were up against deadlines as i recall) I think it would alienate MAGA voters to such an extreme level it would actually create a huge landslide rather than the relatively close election we still have now. Yes, it would peel back a bunch of moderates that shifted over to Kamala because they “had” to, but I think the devastating blow to MAGA enthusiasm would far outweigh that. IMO. Think Georgia Senate races circa 2020.

It wasn’t his worst, but he was terrible, lying in response to almost every answer. But compared to Biden,he looked magnificent. Here? His performance was an abject failure.

Or, because she was prepared for the question or prepared for the opening that Trump might provide by his routine personal attacks. At least I would have been prepared for that of I were in the stage.

I remember him saying he would first hold private conversations with each leader - then get them together.

For me....hearing *someone* saying they would try to end the war - is refreshing.

I do acknowledge Trump comes off as very boastful and bombastic at times - but at least he says what's on his mind, for what it's worth.

The rest of it is fair game to debate......so have at it.......

Yes, he's such a straight shooter. If 90% of what he said wasn't demonstrably/wildly false I might agree that's a refreshing quality in a politician.

It’s all comparative. Just like Trump looked good compar3d to Biden, Kamala looked GREAT compared to Trump.

Why haven’t you done anything for the past three years - says the guy who’s been claiming he would tell us his healthcare plan for almost a decade and now says he has “concepts”.

I said immediately after the Biden debate Trump basically won by default, because Biden was a no show. Trump was incoherent, but because he was confidently incoherent and mostly able to stick to his themes he had a TKO against the guy that said “we finally defeated Medicare”. I’m not sure he got across a single sentient point, but it didn’t matter there in light of Biden.

I figured Harris would “win” in a technical “keeping score” sense by at least pointing out Trumps lies a few times and just having coherent talking points where Biden couldn’t perform at all. Even at the very start she seemed nervous and I could see a scenario where Trumps antics could get him through. But holy shit I did not anticipate that type of dismantling or the obvious triggering with the crowd sizes. Just shows the mental illness and extreme narcissism people refer to with Trump is legit, but his supporters will somehow never see it.

I've been asking that same question. Trump was asking Harris about not getting something done yet he's had 9 years for a healthcare plan only to have....concepts?

Still waiting to hear his answer to the question on why did he order every Republican congressman to vote down the bipartisan border bill … (other than that the old, overused refrain, “they’re eating cats”)

I think it’s premature, one way or the other, as to what effect the debate will have, if any. Kamala not only needed to on the debate, but as you say, she needed to gain significant momentum. We won’t know whether she accomplished that for a few weeks.

Also, he was asked about a federal abortion ban, and he answered, “they tried to forgive student loans.”

You missed in response to Kamala’s claims that world leaders mock him, he said, “no they don’t. Victor Orban loves me.”

Trust him--if he doesn't have a plan--he has the concepts of a plan! He will share more in a couple weeks!

You people had the choice of voting for a viable Republican candidate in the primaries. You overwhelmingly picked a deranged Trump. And while most of you make excuses and apologies for picking Trump, and are clearly and rightfully embarrassed for doing so, you picked him. That’s entirely on you.

Frankly, the only way to right that wrong is to vote Democrat this election, smother the last vestiges of the MAGA infection from our Nation’s soul, and let our Nation start to recover from its utter indecency.
